It's either a robot ladybird from Sonic 1 or a coconut chuckin' monkey from Sonic 2. I'm pretty sure I played 2 first though.

Not on the NES, mind you, I'm talking Super Mario Land on the first Gameboy.

I were going to say 'Goomba', but I realized that's not actually true.
I used to play some top-down shmup with a helicopter and a jeep with my cousin on his Commodore 64 before I got my own nintendo.
So I guess some shit from that game were the first.
