You know, come to think of it, and not to be overly crude, but is it just me or do QTE's sometimes feel like the game jerking off at us?Vrach said:Aye, maybe, but it's besides the point... I just hate them. It's not that they're hard, they're just completely uninteresting to me. I like them used in some ways (ME2 dialogue action), but for combat, it's just a big no :\jtesauro said:It's worth mentioning, I do think that QTE's are handled better here then they are in most games. They almost never catch you off guard, you sort of know to expect them with the bigger baddies and so they become part of the experience and you catch yourself going "Ok here it comes" in your head when one shows up. Again, it's not unlike God of War in that regard. Point being, they rarely took me out of the experience the way they do in alot of games; Jericho strikes me as a blatant example of this.Vrach said:And there goes any chance of me trying this game. I put up with all the (massive) bullshit from the TFU port, but when it got to the QTE bit, the game flew off my hard drive faster than Twilight.jtesauro said:Quicktime events are back. Sigh. So I still get to do amazingly cool action bits, but almost miss the entire thing because I'm looking for button prompts. Sorry Yahtzee.
I see what you mean though. I'll take them over the Devil May Cry methodology of just making me watch everything cool happening, but I'd still rather see total control remain in the player's hands ideally.
