This has been on my mind for quite a while and I'd like to know what the Escapist thinks abut it. What do you think the future will be like? No specific time. It could be 10, 20, 50, or 1000 years from now, but I'd like to know your opinions.

I personally think the future will be boring. By that, I mean our society, our government and our way of life will become so sterile and so safe that we will eventually become stagnant and rely on machines to do everything for us. Sort of like in the movie Wall-E.

What do you think?

NO matter what happens, the future is bound to suck. Especially when the aliens enslave us all

I think I'm going to wake up tomorrow at around 6 AM, and be angry about it.

Pretty much the same as now.
People in the future will be sitting on their future-computers going, "I wonder what it will be like in the future." And so begins the never ending circle of boredom.

It's been four years and still no transforming vehicles. 1985, you have disappointed me with your unrealistic expectations of the future.

I love you.

Also, teleportation pads. Everywhere. And proper spaceships. And a colony on Mars. Or somewhere cool, anyway. Actually, somewhere warm. With palm trees and sand. And aliens.

Ooh, and somewhere in the future, someone has to invent something like a babel-fish.

In the grim darkness of the future, there is only WAR!

And grim darkness.

Overall I believe technology will change but people and society won't. They will still be waking up at 6 pm albeit with holographic alarm clocks, and be angry about it.

Well, I think it'll be interesting to say the least.

[sub]Also, possibly irradiated and/or zombified.[/sub]

Massive overpopulation leading to widespread starvation...

...but on the up side we'll have light-sabers

Probably like it is now, I doubt we'd see much change.
