Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic 2. I dont even remember when I played those games for the first time. I've known the level select code for sonic the hedgehog since I could talk basically. I hate that the gaming franchise of my childhood has been driven into the ground. I dont want to play as a fat slow plumber to get some fun platforming god dammit!

Bah I wasn't an arcade guy I just bought the consoles (Except for the TMNT The arcade game I spent at least $30 on that which I can now buy for $5 on XBLA)

I miss the days when Spyro was a mute collection of polygons rather than this VERY American sounding artard who just fought the same bosses as the easrlyer games. The days when a game was more of an experiance than an obligation and when it took more than 3 days to complete them. I don't buy first hand games any more because they are always too short. I used to when you could spend a week button mashing your way through dodgy level design and suspect gameplay. I don't mind this level of crappyness in old games but nowadays its a different story.
Thank you!I miss the old Spyro, they kinda went down hill after spyro 3.
But hey they were still good.Better then the now in days Spyro.
Get Spyro back Insomniac!GET SPYRO BACK!!!

Oh, Im not nagging, Im just asking if anyone else has had those feelings and if they want to share those times with others on this forum. Dont get me wrong, I play nex-gen games all the time, but I enjoy retro all the same.

Do you ever look back and miss the times when a game didn't have to have a complex backstory to fulfill your gaming palet? A simpler time when you played a game that you could never acually win, just to see how far you could get? The magical moment when you win and put the initials ASS on the leader board. Good times, so tell me what you think.
Not really, all of those games are still around so I play them at my leisure.

If you want to reinvigorate your desire to play those old games I recommend lurking over at the Twin Galaxies forums. Those guys will sometimes openly discuss high scoring strategies that are totally different from the usual way most people play the games. It really opens up a whole new perspective on the classics.
