@Drathnoxis, Happy New Year. SGF's top 10 for 2024.
Firefighter F.D. 18 was a bit of a surprise. I liked watching it, but I never realized that SGF enjoyed playing it enough to give it his Old slot. Home Safety Hotline is a bit of a surprise, but not too much. I didn't think it was that good, but SGF was very positive on it. I also never expected Persona 3 for 2 reasons: one that I didn't think SGF was much into JRPGs, and two that P3 just kind of sucks, at least the original did. I was also expecting Balatro to get his top slot. The rest of the list makes sense for his tastes.

Disappointment feels like it's pretty common for kickstarter games from creators who were once great but have been on hiatus since, sometimes for decades. Maybe making games is not like riding a bike, and you have to keep at it, or your lose your touch.
Sounds about right... Perhaps the oversight from a game company was one of the things that actually helped a project along to be what makes it great, and being your own boss via Kickstarter means there's less people telling you that your project needs work in certain areas. Obviously there's the opposite effect to consider and what I'm saying is not universal, but... you get the idea

Yahtzee put Slitterhead on his Worst list. Come on, no way it deserved that!
I find it ironic he put it on his worst list. I get the game has issues and needs another patch, but it's clearly built on a low budget with people who clearly care and are trying to improve it. More than almost any other AAA game. The game needed another year to cook, but there's clearly passion up behind this and not lazy greed. I say this and I'm not even interested in the game.

I agree, the game clearly ran out of money, but it's an indie game without a major publisher. And it still had a lot of really cool ideas that it explored fairly well. Doesn't deserve to be called one of the worst games of the year.

Appreciate the Nine Sols and PoP nods. Wonder if the fact he didn't do a ZP/whatever it's called now is what gave Another Crab the edge over Nine Sols.
He did a Fully Ramblomatic review of both Another Crab's Adventure and Nine Sols.
I agree, although from his review I didn't think he was *that* down on it.
Maybe it was one of the better years?
