Jesus shit, did you go to my school/ Sixth Form? What this guy said basically sums up an English secondary school education.NinjaDeathSlap said:Snip
I've just finished Lower Sixth at Lincoln Minster if you were genuinely asking. We probably didn't go to the same school though because here it's the music students who are treated like the prodigal children of God. True story this, my school last year spent several million pounds on a new music center (the new complex was supposed to be 50% music and 50% sports, who also needed new facilities, but it got changed to more like 90% music and 10% sports). To be fair they did need new stuff, but the school went overboard with the expense. They spent one million pounds alone on just one piano (no, I am not making that up). Then this year they forked out even more money for a completely unnecessary merger with another musically minded school. As a result the school has literally run out of money and all department spending has been cut to nothing, yes, absolutely nothing, for the next whole year. This wouldn't be necessarily so bad but I can think of at least 3 departments who all needed more help than music did in the first place, and now they have to make do with horrendously out of date facilities and dwindling resources for the next whole year. I am very pissed off.RabbiiFrystofsk said:Jesus shit, did you go to my school/ Sixth Form? What this guy said basically sums up an English secondary school education.NinjaDeathSlap said:Snip
It's the last point that really caught my attention however and basically sums up what is drilled into you over the last two years in sixth form/college. More specifically what i can't stand is the Science/Math students at my school.
Granted a lot of em are decent people THEY HAVE THE FATTEST EGOS IN THE WORLD. I'm not going to lie, to be part of the sciences/math discipline you've got to be pretty clever but these people think they're the blessed immaculate of the education system. I'm more favoured towards history and often get knocked down for it being a completely useless subject and am also ridiculed for wanting to take it for my degree. These people think they're all going to be doctors and earn £70K a year immediately and just be the most awesome people ever but they're bloody lazy and constantly moan about their subjects. Fair play the world needs doctors and i'm not having a dig at them they're exceedingly important, it's just this attitude that if you don't do science/math that you're basically a waste of space and will end up washed up at the side of the street with a can of Special Brew.
I enjoy my studies and found Biology AS to be the most harrowing experience ever (dear god learning the structure of a cell is just damning).
You CAN be successful without be a bloody doctor/engineer. Sure these jobs pay a fuck load (especially engineering) but NOT EVERY SINGLE PERSON CAN BE AN ENGINEER.

Oh and by the way, you forgot the constant unwarranted swearing, "Badboi" and "Innit" as well.
