I would bring alot of "how to draw" book on comicbook characters, manga and other stuff relating to it (how to draw mech, building etc). By the time I return to the real time I would be a comicbook artist or Mangaka!
If I were to spend a year of my time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, it would irk me that I would be alone. I view social experiences as an extension of learning where I can learn from and teach others as I go along.
Anyway, if I had this opportunity, I would take with me a compendium of the written, drawn, filmed, and produced (by way of the videogame, music, and dance & choreography mediums) works of man.
I would take the time to study, and focus on creating works of my own, but not without the necessary editing programs, drawing materials, game engines, etc.
How I conduct myself, from eating habits and exercising should be top notch. Can't have my physique waning. 10x gravity outside of the threshold doesn't sound too pleasing, so I would just stay inside of the main room for the year.

I dont see why id want to do that. The only reason they used it in DBZ was because they had something pressing to do, but needed to train. Personally, im not that busy.
Well I've already got the Kaioken down so I might as well shoot for Super Saiyan while I'm there.
I would use that peaceful minute/year to meditate. I would do that now but to many distractions.
i would teach my self everything needed and more to make games. of course i would need internet connection along with many this. this includes learning computer languages,what ever math is needed, learn how use the stuff products adobe makes (maybe even Java), and etc.
and i would get better at drawing.

I don't know why anyone would want to lose a year of their life, training like Vegeta and Trunks did (to save the world), might be a good enough reason, but even for them it turned out to be an epic waste of life, since what they thought was SS2, turned out to just be a weirder form of SS (where you bulk up), and even though they had more power, they lost agility as a consequence, so they were no match for perfect cell.
Alright back to reality... sort of... Get a series of researchers studying diseases, and split them up into x useful groups, have all the equipment and resources needed moved in there, close the door, next day, next group goes in and collaborates with the researchers for a while, then they spend a year, ect, you could advance these medical research studies by 7 years in 7 days, I doubt anyones odd and selfish claims to work out and study can beat that (no offence, but c'mon! Study? Computer Games would be better).
EDIT: Lets say you could study for a 'year' in there, what you learnt at the begining, yes revision ect blah blah, and what you learnt at the end, would all basically have to be on subject matter you're currently enrolled in, wouldn't it? It's not like you could study an entire degree in that time, then just come out and do all the tests (now that might be actually useful), otherwise it would be pointless to study 2 or even 4 units...even 8.
