Welcome to the 'I Challenge You!' thread, where members come to challenge each other and engage in vigorous debate. The basic idea behind this is a challenge is posted and other members try to beat said challenge.

Rules of this Thread

1. Anyone is able to submit a challenge they think others will have a hard time beating. We want this to be a community thread, so feel free to PM me what you would like to see put up here. It could be a score on a game, a time for a race, hell even a test result if you want to. If you think it's worthy of a challenge, please go right ahead.

2. Please, no flaming. This should go without saying, but some challenges (like the one I'm going to start the thread with) will annoy some people. The point of this thread is to challenge others to beat your idea or achievements, so please be prepared to lose and don't take it personally. It's a wide community out there, people aren't all going to agree.

3. Achievable challenges please. Not something like, 'I ran the 100m in 3 seconds' or something similar. Remember, if people don't stand a chance of beating your challenge then they're not likely to try, so you're only hurting yourself.

Right! To start with I'm going to ask a question as my challenge, one based off personal opinion so I'm quite prepared to lose this. It's going to be interesting to see how people respond;

I challenge you to name a piece of music that has contributed more to Western Culture than Beethoven's 9th Symphony.

EDIT: Danzorz challenges other users to balance a golf ball on their heads for longer than 20 seconds!
NoMoreSanity Challenges users to beat Too Human without Dying and Getting Frusrated! A very hard challenge indeed.
Crystal Cuckoo challenges others to solve his math question! http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.105102 - Achieved by Danzorz... albeit in a rather amusing fashion...
Lord Snake Eyes challenges others 'I challenge you all to run 4km in under 13 mins (I did, but let's say 13mins to round it up)'
tracuer challenges someone to beat this game http://www.addictinggames.com/theworldshardestgame.html
Daye.04 challenges someone to have been electrocuted more than him! (At least 20 times to this day...)
Let the challenges begin!

If the mods want to move it there no problem... it's just I always hang around this section so I've gotten into the habit of posting stuff here.

EDIT: Can you really balance a golf ball on your head for 20 seconds?

It has contributed to the rise of the grunge music, sold incerdibly well, and influenced an entire generation of Gen Xers.
Very nice. The 9th Symphony is often called the forefather of the Romantic peroid of music, influenced many composers of the romantic period and even influenced what size cd's were (they eventually made them a size wide enough to make them hold enough data to hold the entire 9th symphony on there). Ode de Joy continues to be one of the most recognised pieces of music worldwide and is widely recognised as one of the greatest pieces of music ever written.

Your turn!

I've done that before...
Nice, I've added your challenge to the OP so people can challenge you over it.

I challenge you to complete Too Human without dying and not getting frustrated!
I thought it had to be DO-able... That's impossible.

I challenge you all to run 4km in under 13 mins (I did, but let's say 13mins to round it up)

"Teen Spirit" brought Nirvana to the top, where they created even more hits until Cobains suicide in '94 happened. Than Nirvana songs were played more than ever, his live albums reached the top, and Dave Grohl (Nirvana's drummer) started his own band the "Foo Fighters", where he made even more fame and hits.. All this would not have happened if "Teen Spirit" were not released.
Very nice... Beethoven composed his 9th whilst completely deaf, heralding it's composition as an amazing feat in itself. He also introduced choral pieces into Symphonies for the first time.

The Starwars theme is very popular and well known... but has it contributed more to Western Culture?

Can you say that 10 times in under 8 seconds?

Cobain conducted "Teen Spirit" in Verse-Chorus-Verse form, a style which gave him much success with all his songs. The music video was an iconic thing, being awarded "Best New Artist" and "Best Alternative Group" in the 1992 MTV Video Music awards, along with many others.
Very good, would you have said Cobains death helped or hindered Smells Like Teen Spirits influence on grungers on generation x? I'm curious to hear your thoughts on that one.
