The Immortals RP
You awoke from what should have been your death with a start, and found yourself unable to be killed. Ever.
Whether a few weeks, decades, or centuries, you have found time and again that you cannot die. You have, at points, met immortals like you, but they know very little about their situation as well. You cannot kill each other, you have no special abilities, (aside from excellent memory and an incredible ability to learn and adapt to new situations.)
As far as you can tell, you have no real supernatural powers aside from the obvious. You can eat food and drink, but don't need to. You can feel all emotions and sensations you have not psychologically repressed. You cannot age past the date of your ?death.?
In your world, you can only find those like you and try to find out why you are blessed/ cursed. That or you can try to blend in.
The mystery of your existence should perplex you, and if you do not go out looking for others like you, they will likely seek you out.
Today, you began to feel a new sensation that you had never felt before. An odd, cold, electric tingling under your skin. Something new is happening in the world, and you can feel in your bones that it is somehow tied to your fate.

Welcome to the Immortals RP. It is not a Vampire or Highlander RP, nor is it specifically Fantasy/ Sci-Fi. It is a scenario with which to develop historical characters and put them in various adventure situations.
The Rules are fairly basic. This is a character driven RP. I will push the plot in various directions, but I would like to see where the various players would like to take it. The point is excellent story telling, so there is no real end goal but how well we can develop the plot. As such, no dice, no points, no special system. I'm trusting you to be mature and not God-Mode this RP into rubble. God Moders will be kicked, as well as trench-coaters. Mary Sues, Mystery Men, Mutes and other horrendous stereotypes.
There will be one Mute in the RP, but she is STRICTLY an engine for plot progression.
Your character needs REAL flaws. Brooding is not a flaw, it's something people do when they are upset. True, it is annoying if they do it too much, but Christ, I want to see something else.
If your character is TOO perfect, I probably won't want to play with them and they likely won't make it to the end of the story.
No absurdly crazy people, either, they are at least as annoying as the brooders.
I am very open to things in favor of plot progression, but if you're unsure of something, it's a good idea to just PM me before a move.
No sex. Keep it in the wings, my hormonal buddies. There can be suggestion of a romantic affair, but assume we're using 1960's standards of mass media, in which the ?twinkle in the eye? tells us what we need to know.

You have a LOT of freedom in this RP as far as characters are concerned. Time period, personality, it's mostly open, however, to keep in the theme of our over-arching plot, I do have a few guidelines.
Your character must have died doing something heroic. Perhaps he or she was a martyr for his or her respective religion and was put to death for their beliefs. Or maybe your character was an accused witch in Salem who refused to implicate any innocents and was subsequently burned at the stake. Maybe you had a brave viking launch himself at an impossible number of enemies in order to allow his fellows to escape to the ship. Have your character die for something they believed to be right. They don't have to be angels or saints, and they might have done something despicable. Maybe your character was a desperate suicide bomber running into a school of kindergartners. The point is you died doing something you believed in and did so with gusto.
At the last moment, just at the point of death, your character had a final doubt, and regretted their impending doom. They did not regret what they were standing for, they regret that they have to die to do it, because they have something to live for.
Your character's back story should be PMed to me, and not posted on the forum. I want the characters to have varying understanding of one another, and it's easier to develop authentic character interaction without knowing too much about the other character. I will keep a back log of character stories.
You may post your basic sheet on the main page.

For everyone to see on the Forum page, here is the basic sheet:
Name:
Gender:
Physical Age:
Era of Origin:
Physical appearance:
General Personality:
It might look like this:
Name: Susana Bend
Gender: Female
Physical Age: 16
Era of Origin: 1920's
General Personality: Smart and sassy, she has a sharp tongue and a sharp wit. Unfortunately this doesn't make her very bright and she comes off as fairly annoying or brash.
You should PM me with all of the above AND your Back story. This may vary in length from person to person, but the better researched and fleshed out, the better chance you have of sticking around.

This is my first hosted RP on The Escapist. I'm not asking that you be nice, but patient and informative in places.
I've done others on other sites, but the rules were different. As such, I invite you to give suggestions and tell me when something doesn't fit. This also applies to the story.
I might not always agree, but I will listen.
