Njord waited for them to fully open the door and begin to throw his would be cell mate in. He let out a bellowing war cry that would terrify a bear, and charged them. The captors were too shocked by his shout to react and Njord put a full force shoulder tackle into one pushing him back to the wall crushing his chest. He turned and faced the woman's second captor, his eyes filled with years of pent up blood lust. The jailer was petrified with fear he stood there, then regained his vigil and aimed his gun at Njord and fired. Njord made no attempt to dodge the shots, letting them hit him two in the chest and one hit his shoulder, he simply smiled and rushed his assailant.

"Where is your god now? He isn't here, he is weak, my gods are strong." Njord broke his arm, then dislocated his shoulder and finally performed a take down and bashed his head into the ground a few times.

Njord stood up. "That felt good, I really should let it out every hundred years or so. Are you alright grandma?" He asked the old woman while searching one of the bodies for keys, finding them. He threw them into his neighbors cell. "You can find the one that opens your door yourself, I'm going to have to fight off any more of our friends that come down to see what all the commotion was."

So sorry! Holidays and such, yada yada you know the drill.

Fredrick turned and faced the growling noise nonchalantly. "It appears we have a visitor, Shaun my boy. Want to take any guesses as to what it is? My money is on an ancient ritual summoning gone awry. Or perhaps an extraterrestrial." He held the torch up higher, but the light failed to reach whatever it was that had crept up on them. Fredrick had dealt with countless wild animals and strange beasts in his lifetime, and knew better than to advance on it.

"It doesn't sound like any large carnivore I've heard before." he said to Shaun, quieter and more serious now. "It's not an alligator, which I would assume to be the most likely animal down here, and it's not a big cat, or a canine. The growl seems vaguely familiar, but I can't seem to remember from where." He jogged his memory, trying to remember all of the tombs and ruins he had ever been in, but none of the unspeakable horrors he had encountered matched this one. The closest thing he could match it to would have to be be the giant killer worms of Mongolia, who made a surprisingly vertebrate-like growl.

"Well, whatever it is, we can safely assume it will be better to let it come to us, rather than attacking it blindly. Besides, it's two against one, and we can't die." Depositing the torch on the ground next to them, Fredrick crouched down into an odd-looking fighting stance, prepared to combat whatever assailant that came at them from the darkness. His extensive lifetime had granted him the time and patience to learn many forms and styles of fighting, along with the ones he had already known from his time in the Viking wars. Now, with a millenia of combat training in thousands of different techniques form all across the globe, he had combined them all and developed his own ways of doing it. Hand-to-hand combat with powerful wild animals was only one of the many situations he was proficient at handling.

Giorgio and Sachiro, and Charles is arbitrarily dumped here for lack of a better place to put him right now

The coffin lid falls on the ground and breaks. Within, the creature heaves a great breath, as though breathing for the first time in ages. As you watch, the flesh slowly begins to reform and pulse with life as the creature gasps. As more muscles begin to pulse to life, it slowly slinks out of the coffin and towards the stale water in the moats on the floor. It begins to drink the nasty fluid, rapidly dipping it's face in and out as more flesh and tissue begins to develop.

Njord

The woman stands and dusts herself off as Njord releases the man from his nearby cell. "Tah...nothing I haven't contended with a'fore. I've dealt with worse. Thank you well for your...well your reactionary...huh...wasn't much quick thinking there so much as a lot of smashing. Well done for you, then."

The other man slinks out of his cell. "Well, that is wonderful...I suppose the month of planning was useless then? Whatever, whatever, I'm just happy to be free." He claps Njord on the shoulder. "Well done, sir."

Fredrick and Shaun

Huge sheets of Jade are slammed to the floor as a creature forms from the walls. It slinks menacingly towards them as it pulls its hind limbs from the wall. It is difficult to make out, and soon you realize that the oily facade of the creature seems to shift into various forms of beast as you watch.

Disgusted, shocked, and utterly perturbed by what he was witnessing, Giorgio could only stare. So long, thoughts for dying. After a long moment, while the individual splashed the murky and putrid water down its front, he nudged Sachiro.

"Looks as though we have a new acquaintance."

Hesitantly, Giorgio took a couple of steps forward, jaw clenched tightly, stressing to hide his anxiety. He was sure to keep an appropriate distance from the regenerating mummy, before asking, "Can you understand me? ...Inglese? Italiano? Francesi?"

English? Italian? French?

...Elfish? xD

"A month is nothing compared to centuries, and it was nothing I've brought down entire militias alone. Now I think the smart thing to do would be to free everyone else and get out of here, smashing skulls and causing terror along the way as well." Njord replied and remarked a hint of a smile one his face.

"You have a knife, or any kind of blade on you?" Fredrick asked Shaun, keeping his eyes on the creature. "With foes like this your best bet is usually to simply cut it apart, starting with the limbs, if it has definite ones. Basically try to remove as much of it as you can at a time."

He had encountered similar biological entities twice before, once in an Egyptian tomb and once in a mangrove swamp deep in the Amazon Rainforest. The first time, in the tomb, he hadn't known what he knew now, and had tried for hours to find a weak spot such as vital organs or a brain. He eventually did find one, and used it to kill the adversary, but it would have been accomplished much faster if he had simply cut it up first, effectively disabling it's "shape-shifting" powers.

Fredrick glanced around quickly and noticed a small, jagged piece of jade laying next to the fallen slab, and slowly began to edge his way toward it.

Anna nodded to the Mother Superior. "I think this one counts as God working in mysterious ways." she said. Because I don't have a clue what's going on here. she added to herself.

Her eyes were fixed on the back of the Saint who marched them out of the labyrinth, desperate not to get lost. She never was much good at directions. The others followed close behind.

It didn't take long for the whole group to be out in the glistening sunlight, the walls of the tunnels and the church left behind. Looking over the rolling hills Anna breathed a sigh of relief. Sunlight always made her feel happier. Turning to the only person she assumed would have an answer, she looked to the Saint.

"So, now what?" she asked.

Paddy stared up at the sky glad to be outside, he was really getting sick of being stuck in small places. Addressing Zala he said "We should probably contact the others and see if they found anything, or if they ended up in another country. But most of all, let's just get out of here".

BAH! Some of you did things that are making it difficult for me to wedge in bits of plot I had intended, and others are just not responding. I gave a week for anyone to update who wanted to. I'll have content tonight, I just need to rewrite some things.

I'm not sure if this is just me, as I'm pretty new at this, but I'm having trouble having my character do things because I'm not sure what on earth I'm doing or what's going on. There doesn't seem to be an objective to acheive, or any solid leads taking shape, so I don't know how to advance.
