Iron Man 3 is really getting cluttered.

They have the Mandarin.
They've announced Firepower.
Now someone is going to bring the Iron Patriot in as a villain instead of just a suit that Norman happened to wear.

This is beginning to bode ill for the third movie.
Uh...not necessarily.

I realize its a lot to introduce but a film with lots of heroes or villains is not necessarily bad.

Most of the worst hero films that I'm aware of were light on cast, just heavy on bad writing and bad directing.

Me thinks that death is a wee bit more permanent in the Marvel Movieverse than in the comics.....
I guess with the arrival of Thanos we'll know soon enough ;). Seeing as how those two are thick as thieves.

Aw dammit Sony! You spilled your copyright all over my delicious continuity!
Isn't it ridiculous? We live in a day and age when half of a story can be owned by one copyright and the other half by another copyright. It's like the rights to the Hobbit were owned by different people than Lord of the Rings, meaning that they couldn't use Gandalf.

What the hell is the Iron Patriot? Again with the Iron? Iron rusts, you know.

Who cares about copyright. Most comic characters are so lazily made up and named, why not introduce some altogether new characters such as the Titanium Tin Can.

Oh wait, the fan boys.

I really want to see Iron Man take on someone other than the military industrial complex. Hes always been the ultimate anti-communist, so why not borrow the Ultimate Galactus tale with the Avengers infiltrating an abandoned Soviet base stuffed with monstrous Captain America knock offs or something? I know whiplash was Russian but he could have just been a mercenary from any old country, I want to see Tony being apologetically American for a while. Hell im not even American, but the broad golbalized 'there are no real bad guys but terrorists and business men' wall is just so BLAND I'd love to see it coloured with some red white and blue.....
I think That Galactus is stuck with the Fantastic 4 movies...

He was in the second F4 movie (...as a freakin CLOUD. X_X), so I think whoever own the rights to F4 owns the rights to Galactus.

Which is seriously lame. I would LOVE to see the Avengers take on Galactus.

Oh great. Just what Iron Man 3 needed. ANOTHER ally and/or rival and/or enemy who's just another Iron Man.

Seriously.
Iron Man: Tony Stark battles his VP who dons an Iron Man suit on steroids.
Iron Man 2: Tony Stark teams up with his Air Force buddy who wears an Iron Man suit with a small arsenal to take on a Russian asshole who wears an Iron Man suit with energy whips and an army of Iron Man robots.

See, it's crap like that which has made me disinterested in the superhero genre and is why I'm going to wait until I'm bored and it's on Netflix before I see The Avengers.
Well, in the comics, all of Iron Man's enemies are nothing but guys wearing their own Iron Man suits.

Most Superheroes have a "theme" to their enemies.

Superman's enemies are either made of krypotonite, use it, or are from Krypton.

Batman's are all insane.

And X-men's are all mutants or mutant hunters.

You've never read a single issue of any Superman or Superman spin off comics have you. Superman has one of the largest, most diverse, and most powerful stable of supervillans in comics history.

im sorry but of all armours and villians this is the lamest in the iron man franchise.

and i fear that if you start to place the more magical foes in the movies, people will be pissed.

so far the movies were only tech heavy.
Ehh Iron Patriot really only works with a character trying to stirr up political support or push an agenda. It in and of itself doesn't do much

Iron Man 3 has joined Dark Knight Rises to my "Dollar Theater" watch list :/

edit: but as far as characters Marvel doesn't currently/still own, I'd still rather see Wolverine than Spider-Man, but that's just my personal opinion lol

I'd like to see at least one non-heavily armoured villain in 3. Mandarin or Ghost would be cool. Hopefully this is just some random armour suit in Iron Patriot's colours rather the the Patriot himself, 'cause he would be pointless without Osborn.
