Wow. I was thinking that this might be good. But I should have known better. It's a rule that you cannot make a good cartoon show into a good movie. It's not really possible to squeeze such a great and original series such as The Last Airbender into a movie that is barely over an hour and a half long? M. Night's career has really crumbled. Was The Sixth Sense a fluke or something? Seriously, the movies he has directed since then have either been terrible or sucked something awful.

It was a good show, and I'm still going to see this just how it was adapted.

I'd brainwashed myself in to actually hoping it might be worth seeing, even though the trailers never had a spoken line of dialog until right before the movie released...
Then I convinced myself maybe it was just a bad trailer..
Then a couple days ago /Film posted a couple clips from the movie that were full of pure and utter fail and I lost hope. This just seals the deal.
It's too bad because the show has enough depth to be an excellent movie series if it was in the hands of a competent director...

Here's an idea. Why don't we wait for, I dunno, PROFESSIONAL reviews? Maybe after more than 30-ish random and probably fickle moviegoers post their opinion? In fact, why don't we all rely on our OWN opinion instead of following the majority and declare the movie as bad without ever seeing it like a mindless sheep?
Because we don't want to waste our money and time perhaps? 98% of the time these critics are spot on. This is more than likely one of those times when they are right. Besides, what are you expecting us to do? Waste our time and money just to see if these professionals are wrong?

I'm a huge fan of the show and as soon as I heard that this guy was involved I knew it would turn into utter shit. I honestly hope they don't waste money making 2 and 3 and just make a new series based in the IP.

But to be honest, I haven't seen it yet. I was planning on seeing it at the movies and I generally don't trust ANY reviews. I think I'll just obtain it off the interwebz, watch it, and then if I like it go see it at the movies. I don't want to give him my money unless it's good.

Maybe you could wait until it actually comes out in theatres so a more general consensus can be reached, rather than leaning on the word of opinionated critics who like to ***** about every little thing.

Bad reviews from aging movie critics who have never seen the show and who's primary complaint is that its too childish, doesn't explain enough of what's going on, and contains child actors?

Yeah, I care what they think. I'll see it for myself and make my own decisions, thank you.

As much as I don't like being a jerk....
See, FANS, this is YOUR handiwork. You made the series so popular that it was made into a movie. Want to make sure it never happens again?

DON'T ***** ABOUT MORE MATERIAL IF IT ONLY MEANS MAKING MORE MONEY FOR THE PUBLISHERS!

I loved every moment of the series, but I hate everything Shamalamalamalamalan does, but I guess I'll put my hatred aside for a few hours. Also prediction, I think he'll completely screw up the characters personalities, especially Katara.

I'm going to see it anyways, as soon as my grandfather gets out of the hospital...
If you do that, he'll end up going straight back.

This really turns me off. This director is horrible and always has been. This sucks.

EXACTLY! Finally! Somebody who ACCEPTS that whenever a movie, book or game is made, some will like it, some will not. Subjectivity accompanies fiction like Robin accompanies Batman. If you really enjoyed a work of fiction then great, good for you, don't worry about what others say, if you truly enjoyed it, then their opinions won't tarnish your love for said work of fiction. Anyone is perfectly within their rights to enjoy or not enjoy a movie regardless of what anyone else thinks. "Review Aggregator" sites like Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes just add to the problem. Groupthink, anyone? I for one am going to see this movie, and will reserve judgement until I have.

I wasn't going to see it anyway. I didn't approve of a live action movie of the series anyway so this just proves that I had a point IMO.
