Guild wars 2

Brings alot of new things to the MMO-genre.
No more competing with other players, everybody gets exp and loot from monsters!
Double-tap to dodge, learn this as soon as possible, dodging makes you invulnerable for the duration of the dodge and is a must know for melee vs Super Murder Bosses!

Your imagination is your limits
much better than Dwarf Fortress
Sorry just a bit offtopic here but why do you compare dwarf fortress and minecraft?
Minecraft is a sandbox game with very little rpg elements and Dwarf fortress is a strategy game with some sandbox elements.
Both are very different games.
Either way:

Qube:

Got it cheap on steam.
Quite some good puzzles.
Missed at least some kind of story

Fallout: New Vegas

Yeah, it doesn't do anything too different from 3 and the bugs are so bad at times it'll go into "slideshow mode" after bout an hour making it unplayable, but I don't care. Much better quests, better weapons, smarter story and the DLC, whilst a tad expensive in my opinion, adds more to the experience than 3's extra content.

Dead Rising 2

Though I never played the original Dead Rising game Dead Rising 2 was insanely fun, and while I felt a little let down by the lack of freedom and time constraints within the game, the story mode was fun to play anyway, and I felt the game more than redeemed it's self for that aspect.

A reasonably good 8/10 I'd say.

Halo: Reach
Leveling system has improved from Halo 3.
In what way?

Halo 3: You leveled up by winning games and ranked up by getting a higher skill rank (by winning more games than you lost). This meant you were actually ranked, it y'know, meant something for you to have a higher rank than somebody else. You could play games for fun to get your total xp up still, but you'd have to play a few ranked games every now and again to get your deserved rank at the time. Also if your rank number went down for whatever reason, it would still record your highest ever rank and let you keep the name/rank that that unlocked for you.

Halo Reach: You are bombarded with random XP and credits for just playing, doing random objectives each day that meant everybody was doing the same thing in multiplayer. It doesn't matter if you win or lose, meaning people who lost could just put tonnes of time in to the game and still look better on paper than other people who play better than they do, but don't sink loads of time into the game. Arena was also a step down from Halo 3's ranked matches because it just never gave well balanced teams and the rankings weren't permanent.

OT:
Bastion:
Awesome music.
Fun Gameplay.
Narrator with the voice of a western cowboy god.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Fun combat system with loads of different ways to develop your character.
Apart from the combat everything else is cut and pasted from The Elder Scrolls series.
Brings nothing new to the genre. Fun game but hugely disappointing.

Battlefield 2

An awesome old game
Unless everyone forgets
How to use their mics

Alright, three actual lines. It's a lot of fun on a server that encourages the use of the built in commander and squad system, and it's truly amazing how orders trickle down from the commander to everyone else. But it sucks if nobody bothers to do that. Remembering how to use your mic is more complicated than it sounds, since you can only talk to your own squad mates unless you're a commander/squad leader.

Knights of the Old Republic (just replayed it, was in a Star Wars mood)

Great D&D old rpg. The force truly feels powerful and has a couple of shockers. A great ending and a superb story with satisfying gameplay. If you are looking for a good old fashioned RPG get this.

Max Payne 3

Irritating "cinematics" make an already less than stellar story damn near unbearable, along with the slight bastardization of a character. Max's monologues and the Noir atmosphere are pretty much gone, replaced by a balding alcoholic bitching all day in a stereotypical Southern American city. Even with these grievances, I'd be lying if I said the gun play wasn't fucking awesome along with fair and balanced difficulty.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Story is based less on large scale warfare and more on a personal story of revenge, but it never really gets into the emotions of the characters and makes the story feel meaningless and out of focus. Animation and camera work are surprisingly good during some points in the game and get the adrenaline pumping. 30k is a direct rip-off of Haggard from Battlefield: Bad Company. A game with much more enjoyable characters.

King Of Dragon Pass:

+Wonderfully random tribe simulator.

+Does incredible things with only screens of text and hand-painted pictures

-Needs a way to hire specific nobles. Nothing's worse than having you last trickster noble die of old age right when you need him. also buggy.

Game of Thrones.

Poor production quality, graphics and voice acting pretty sub par.
Pretty good leveling mechanics, combat is challenging if somewhat boring.
Good story, fans of the books and tv series will like it.

I've decided to talk about the last 2 games I played instead of 1.

Saints Row the Third
Original cartoonish game that tries its best to be different from grand theft auto but also similar, its fun and addictive game play will will have me playing for a long time, although the makers wants to stuff this game full of DLC, I have never seen so much DLC for one game.

APB Reloaded
Horribly unbalanced game that tries to be fun, but loses at the gold threat levels with RPGs against bronzes, this game has a lot of potential but a bad execution, I hate it when the enemy who spent $5 for a digital AK kills me in 2 hits where I shoot him 10 times and hes still going.

Mass Effect 3

Completely and utterly destroyed a great series by retconning or neutralizing every major choice we made throughout the series. The ability to roll play Shepard's personality is gone. The writing has more plot hole than plot, everything that's not simply incorrect is a cascade of stupidity. Everything good about the first 2 games is tarnished beyond repair. Bioware has set a new standard to measure all other failures by. Fuck EA.

And by tomorrow I'll have had a chance to play Lollipop Chainsaw! If that puts me in a better mood I'll give that a 3 line review. It sure as fuck can't put me in a worse mood.
