Inspired by a thread about people's favorite toys yesterday. I thought it would be fun to discuss about the greatness of Legos.

Why do you like it? What is your favorite brand? What else should become lego? Whats your best Lego creation?

I want to hear what you think. So let the discussion commence.

These were two of my favorite sets when I was a lad:
Spectral Starguider
Forestmen's River Fortress
I never really made my own creations, I liked building the sets.

I remember I tried to make Samus Aran's ship out of a Jedi Starfighter once.
God, I'm such a nerd.

Lego Pirates were always fun though.

I didn't build this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iyhisni3bDE] but it's awesome.
Also, the guy who built this is insane.

My Underwater Base... It came with a really cool submarine kinda thing.

Yay Lego!
I miss the old Legos. They were much better than these new ones. (not that I don't like the new ones)
The coolest things I made were a small speeder, a spider robot controlled by a brain, and some sort of cyborg shogun.
I love how nerdy I get to be on these forums.

I think they're bringing something new out that's kinda like them, but they were still brilliant.
I once tried to make Moe's bar from the Simpsons, but failed miserable. As to what should next become lego, i agree with the person who said on another thread that we should have lego Saw :p

I played with lego all the time when I was younger and my favourite (yes, stupid Canadian spelling) set back then was a hundred and something dollars set I got for my birthday once. It was a full space shuttle launch area with a tower and shuttle and mission control and everything. I loved it so much. My favourite one now was a Hammerhead Class Cruiser from Star Wars: KOTOR that I made for funsies one day. Unfortunately when I realized I had the colour scheme slightly wrong I had to change it, at which point I lost track of what I was doing and wasn't able to reassemble my creation.

Yeah, these guys! They were badass.
M-Tron were cool, too, they had awesome space-themed ground vehicles.
Blacktron, second era, were nice too. But first era was best.

My brother and I (well, mostly my brother) built a whole scifi city on a big wooden board my father got for us. Awesome. We still have it in our cellar, collecting dust.

A deep and abiding love of Lego runs through my family. My dad and I built all manner of funky technic models together every Christmas for years. In my time I've built robots, vehicles, several of the command ships from Wing Commander (my Tiger's Claw and Midway were probably the highlights) and in 2004 I built a fully transformable Omega Supreme with ratcheting joints and battery powered walking action for a TF convention contest. There was only one other entry. It won. I was mildly gutted, but it was the superior piece. A fully transforming Trypticon the size of a small child.

I lost most of the pieces for mine though. :(

I still play with Bionicles actually. X)

My favorite is probably the Star Wars sets. I used to try to make pokemon out of legos, and most of them were pretty bad. I made a pretty good Snorlax, though. I think it would be cool if they made video game legos, like mario or final fantasy.

Technic was always my favourite, i remember building a guitar with my brother which was pretty ace xD I also had (and possibly still have in a cupboard somewhere) a huge number of vehicles from the Star Wars lego, my favourite of which was the Naboo Starfighter <3
