I like farming. I don't know whether its because I grew up with it surrounding me or what, but I LOVE farming stuff. It doesn't matter what the game, if it gives you the ability to build a farm from scratch and then reap the rewards from it, the game automatically wins in my book. In fact, the ability to farm has been the deciding factor in several games I've bought. BUT I will NOT buy a game solely for the farming. It has to be a side venture that you can come back to after a day of adventuring. Best example: minecraft. I have MASSIVE fields of EVERY available crop in the game. I plant them, go mining/hunting/building, harvest and repeat.

So, what is that "little thing" that you just fall head over heels for?

Well made long range combat.
Especially with a bow n arrow, I'm a total sucker for a bow n arrow.

Really deep characters, people I want to get to know and talk to, if you have that i'm pretty well sold. Or maybe the ability to customize a great many things, from your home base to your equipment and that of your characters, that's important too. :)

I'm a sucker for some good emotes, especially in a multiplayer environment. League of Laugh Baits.

I love any weird types of characters as well. Have I ever told you that Lulu is my favourite Champion in the League of Legends? Because Lulu is the best Champion in the League of Legends.

"I recommend skipping!"

"You'll see more with your eyes closed"

"Let's use ALL the colours!"

"Dust 'em Pix!"

She also turns people into cupcakes, baby dragons and cute wildlife. It fucks people over because it's over 2 seconds of non-damage during a tower dive.

"It's a squishy carry on 100HP, I'm playing OP Win Nao I can dive this. WHY AM I A BABY DRAGON?! HOW DID EZREAL JUST JUMP UP TO 500HP?!"

I really like interesting skill trees in a game, not just X stat gets stupidly high so you're unkillable but something like Borderlands when you hit certain points in a tree then boom Deathtrap looks a hell of a lot more badass and fires EYE LASERS. Mechromancer is best.

Oh yeah and good mystery stories. There's a reason why Persona 4 and Ace Attorney are my favourite games ever.

I love having lots of clothing/cosmetic options, especially in open-world games. I started up a 100% magic character in Skyrim, and I am loving the fact that I can choose pretty much whatever style I want for gloves and boots. With enchanting, you can get the perfect pair of gloves and boots to match your robes and give them whatever stat bonuses you want. I mean the armor in Skyrim doesn't look bad, but I hate being stuck with the same set forever just because it's the best. And I hate that feeling when I love how the armor I'm using looks, but there's another set that has better stats but doesn't look as good. How am I supposed to be a fearsome and murderous Kajiit who would kill you as soon as look at you when I'm wearing shiny Elven armor like some dandy?

In games? Nothing really comes to mind.

IRL? Gummis. Gummi bears, worms, doesn't matter, I love those things. Also Twix.

Because of my long time with wow, I'm a sucker for equipment upgrades. I don't mean like in Mass Effect, when you get a slightly different chestplate that gives you a slight boost. I'm talking killing a pig and getting the chestplate of ultimate power with 5+ to e-peen that has glowing eyes and is on fire. I'm talking strutting about in the town looking like a clown, because you choose only the gear with the best stats. I'm talking having to compare percentages here. Like how the sword of ultimate destiny might have 5+ attack, but is slower than the broadsword of infinite prowess with 5+ to attack speed, so you'll have to equip them one at a time and see which gives you the overall highest dps.

I think I just overall want the World of Warcraft gear system. It's so great.

I love games with actual characterization besides cutscenes. If I can sit down with a party member and just talk for a while, get to know them better, I'm in heaven. I treat my characters like real people, so when the extent of a party's characterization is "I will follow you because you are the Chosen One and I want revenge on my evil father. The End," I probably won't use that character.

Also, changeable armor that changes your in game appearance. If I get an amazing set of armor as a reward, I want my character to change into it. They shouldn't be wearing the same set of clothes for years at a time, that's just nasty if you think about it. The only downside is that trying to equip your best armor pieces might make you look like you got dressed in the dark, wearing bits of five different armor sets.

A good romance with some drama, angst, tragedy, action, adventure and enough sweet moments to rot my entire mouth.

Give me that and I am your girl for life. LIFEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Chocolate is nice too.

I, too, am a complete sucker for farming. Rather, I enjoy any game that lets me create a thriving industry or at least a means of making money that goes beyond smacking enemies for their spare change or slaying monsters for the gold that apparently they've been keeping in their stomachs.

I also fall head over heels for survival mechanics. I remember the day I heard that Fallout: New Vegas had that hardcore mode. In reality, hardcore mode is a weak excuse for survival since you easily come by food and drink all the damn time. Still, the idea appeals to me and I do believe that it is a very valuable mechanic especially for roleplaying purposes.

Sad moments. I always get emotional when the sad music comes on.

For example, Final Fantasy games have quite a few of these.

Dragon Age 2 had a moment for me when Hawke's sister became infected with the taint and there was the slow process of watching her suffer through it whilst desperately trying to escape the deep roads. She didn't make it.

Halo: Reach obviously has every member of Noble team die one by one in the line of duty.

Anything sad that happens almost always gets pitied.

Character customization, I love making my own character to the way I want him to look like. Granted it can be overwhelming like Champion Online but even then their customization was limited (I want a gorilla head and wear a hat on it!).

Achievements, I spend a depressing amount of time trying to get all achievements. I use steam so there is no reason to get the achievements, there isn't a scoring system but I still get them.

I'm a sucker for a great soundtrack. One of the little details that I liked most in Spec Ops was that Hendrix's version of A Star Spangled Banner plays over the title screen. It makes perfect sense in relation to the game, especially when you realise exactly what Hendrix intended by it, plus it's just a cool piece of guitar.

I too am a sucker for a good soundtrack. Sadly, only the Japanese know how to make good game soundtracks these days. And even then...

It's a tad embarrassing to say, but I won't lie, but if there's a very beautiful yet strong willed woman starring in a game, it tends to turn my head. Silent Hill 3, Still Life, that sort of thing.

I'm sure there are other things, but can't think of them at the top of my head.

New Game Plus is always a win for me, or a game that doesn't end (Elder Scrolls for example)
I am also a sucker for character customization, my character and my team, if customizable.. will look fabulous.

It's one of the things I like about Skyrim, my follower Jenassa. She is pimped out in Dragon Scale Armour, all enchanted and named, Dragonbone sword and Auriel's Shield and Bow, it is awesome
