Why would they even make a ladder as long as that MGS3 one? It just screams "We like forcing players to suffer through infinitely long ladders".

They always like to do odd things in the MGS series XD

I vote for Metal Gear Solid 3. But the ladders in Fatal Frame are hysterical. Not in the fact that they are long, but it takes forever for the girl to climb the letter because apparently, she's afraid to break a nail. Making the ladder feel even longer realizing that there are ghosts at the top and the bottom of the ladder waiting to eat your soul.

I haven't played a lot of the games mentioned so far, but certainly the longest ascent and descent in games I have is the Mass Effect elevators. No wonder the

Protheans got it handed to them by the reapers, by the time they made it to their defensive stations the reapers had eaten half the bloody galaxy.

Or maybe they have an ancient trick where if you press the destination and the door close button it gets a bloody move on.

I haven't played this yet, but when I do, I just know that the temptation will be great to reach the top and then jump back down again.

Sadly you cant jump back down, the game doesnt allow it im pretty sure. Im also fairly certain it doesnt let you climb back down either

Actually, you can climb back down, and you can fall down too if you do a roll. I did it once for laughs. I think it registered a game over before I even hit the ground. Shame, too; it would have been fun to see Snake go splat on the bottom.

Right at the start of that video, it's certainly long compared to the rest of the game.

I reckon 'The Fall' from Portal 2 is one of the longest free-fall descents in a game I've ever seen. It's so long it gives GlaDOS enough time to rant at you for like a minute and a half!

Ladders/Stairs that go on forever? I have one Mario on Nintendo 64. If you haven't got enough stars yet, the stairs up too the last bowser level will actually be infinite.

Tried to find a good video, but everyone is SOOOO OBSESSED with filming the glitch instead... Oh well.
