People say patience is a virtue, but tell it to these kids. The video was pretty funny and it seemed almost CRUEL to do this. Enjoy!

And I tend not to click on links I'm not familiar with.

Edit: All right I get it now. Just ignore what I said.

Thank you for giving me the most adorable five minutes of my day.

I don't think it seems cruel, the kids aren't hurt at all obviously, it's just a fun experiment

The Marshmallow Test for those who don't want to click the link and have never heard of it before is a test to see if children understand the concept of patience being rewarded. They are given a single marshmallow and are told that if they can wait for an undisclosed amount of time, usually around fifteen minutes that they will receive a second marshmallow. Those that wait are rewarded as they are told and the others only receive half of the potential reward.

In the past this was used to predict if children would be good at saving money or if they would dig themselves into debt. As with some family members of mine that took the test when they were young it seems to make fairly accurate predictions.

It is legit, Don't worry guys. Its about what kids will do if they're left with a marshmallow, but the woman who first gives it to them, tells them they can have another one as long as they don't eat the first one.

Edit: Aww ^^^^^ better description.

Basically, kids are put in a room with one marshmallow, with the promise that, if they don't eat it, they'll get another. It's pretty funny, and I apologize for the "random" link. Anyways, it's not really advertising (IMO), it's just a video that I thought was funny.

I saw the story earlier today but the video never played.I've seen similar experiments though.
Some were mean, like putting a little bitty kid with no real sense of depth perception on top of a glass table. Not too funny for the baby.

I saw something like this on that child programme on the BBC with Robert Whinstone. Its quite a good test as it teaches patients through classical conditioning.

The test is flawed, considering how children who rip parts off and then eat said parts get a reward, yet the kids who had none get the same reward. If I issued the test, you would get NOTHING, not even your first marshmallow if you touched it. So it'd boil down to; "Sit in your seat, shut your mouth, touch the marshmallow, you get NOTHING. If you don't touch it, stay in the seat, and shut your mouth, you get to keep your original, and get a second.
The kids who took little bits of were smart enough to do that:p

If I ran the test, they'd be stupid enough to do that, since I'd punch the kid in the face :D
I'm glad you don't run the test:|

This is the cutest torture I've ever seen.
Agreed. And when I saw your avatar I couldn't help but think that Luigi was cursing the Gods for being part of that experiment as well. "Hurry up so I can eat the stupid thing!"
