I have created this thread for anything to do with the matrix. Even though the movies are viewed as old now I think that they are Brilliant! The games were pretty good too( Matrix the Path of Neo was very fun to play due to crazy off-wall stunts). So if you have anything to say about the Matrix:Characters, Storyline, Your favourite movie just post it here. Personally I think Matrix no.1 was the best due to the way it immersed you in the plot, but the second (Reloaded) was brilliant for it's action scequences!

Really post anything to do with the Matrix, it doesn't matter how insignificant you think it is, as long as it's relavent it's okay.

I would like to know how good you believe the Matrix is now ccompared to other movies out, as effects have meant to have been getting better but if you ask me the Matrix is great through it's application of the techniques.....

I agree, the first film is the best. I don't care much for the rest of them.

Favourite scene in the first one is of course the one in the lobby with the major shootout :)

I have only seen the first Matrix - it was alright - I still don't understand why it has become such a phenomenon.

This.
The action was superb in the first one but trying to sit through it more than once is asking for trouble.

I personally love the Matrix series, and I've seen every one. What I really wish they'd do is make a second Animatrix- this time more of a prequel than a bridge between 1 and 2. The Animatrix explained a bit about how the Matrix universe came to be, but who were the first Ones before Neo? What were the first versions of the Matrix like? Who or what is Seraph? How did the Merovingian gain so much power? There are so many unanswered questions it's not even funny.

I love the Matrix, not for its action sequences (though they were excellent), but for its philosophy, its suggestions about human life.

Be honest, who's sat through the Matrix and not briefly considered the possibility of it being a reality? And the sheer implications of the plot! Fantastic.

the first film was great, the second was OK though really could have done without that sex scene, the third was good but the ending was a major let down. some good fights scenes though.

It's very cleverly written and directed so as to appeal to 'boys of a certain age'.
Possibly the most cynical (and clinical) movie ever made.

I think my overall impression of the series, was as follows:

Meh -> Huh, that's nice -> That's profound... -> meh...

Overall: Meh

I love the Animatrix "World Record" episode. Such cool animation and excellent story-telling.

The FX were OK, the first one had an amazing new look but to me the story itself was not new.
Reminded me much of two similar movies that were based on: Counterfeit World, London: Victor Gollancz Ltd. 1964

All of you points are valid and thanks for posting.

The coolest effects in the matrix was the bullet - time sequences if you ask me, they looked so awesome and must have taken ages to make. Also the kund-fu sequences were brilliantly crafted and looked natural due to the fact the actors had to learn the moves themselves! What are your favourite sequences from the Matrix?

Its sort of funny how you speak of the matrix when most of you are still trapped in its illusion. I have freed my mind, but i still don't know why chicken tastes like everything
