Somtimes I think: WTF? Why did the get banned for that? But there is a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff that I dont know about so it probably was justified. Strange though.

Oh well, the mods seem like nice people.

One guy was put on probation for comminting on Yahtzeez vidio. He said

"I agree with yahtzee. I think 3D gaming is overrated and I appreciate a studio coming out with a 2.5D game"

He was banned. WTF? Was he banned just because he was the 2nd person to comment on the vidio? Its not like he was "OMOGMOGMOGMO FIRST FIRST FIRST ON YAHTZEES VID OMG BAN ME I DONT CARE LOLOLOLOO!!!!1"

Who knows.

*sighs* It's really not hard to grasp.

They are not banned because of the content of the posts exactly. They are posting their comments on the video before they could have even watched it. The videos are usually about 5 minutes long and are posted on the hour. So when somebody posts two minutes past with "great video" it's ridiculous, they haven't watched the video and so can't have an opinion to give. They are just trying to be the first to post.

I'm on very good terms with several of them. I think socially speaking, they're great people. I've never had a problem with them, nor have I ever taken issue with any of their decisions. On a social level, I love interacting with them and I think they have great sense of humor.

Please tell me you were being sarcastic when you wrote that. The only times I will not tolerate spelling and grammar mistakes is when they're in posts complaining about spelling and grammar mistakes.

1- He was put on probation, not banned.
2- The reason for him being put on probation was less because of what he posted and more when he posted. Allow me to explain:
-The video was uploaded to the site at 5:00 pm (GMT) on Wednesday 26th August 2009, we can tell this because of what time the OP was made at.
-Because the video is five minutes long, the earliest you can post after seeing the whole video is 5:05 pm (GMT) on Wednesday 26th August 2009.
-The post you were referring to was made at 5:01. There is no way in hell he could've seen the whole video in that time, so what he is basically doing is posting to be the first person that commented and trying to cover his tracks by leaving a generic comment and making it seem on topic. Whilst it's not as bad as a 'First!' post, the same reasoning behind posting it is there.

As for my opinion on the mods, I find what they do really justifiable most, if not all, of the time. And the new Red Guards are really effective at this I find, and are really starting to make the forums a better place than before they came.

They are strict but keep the forum clean. Occasionally they ban people for what I view as rather dumb reasons, like laughing at a joke that everyone in the thread admits is funny, even the person who is being made fun of. In general they do a good job and are pretty awesome people. Also, Nilchypers avatar is Gray Fox, so he gets bonus points of awesome in my book.

It's because he said that before he could've possibly finished the video. I believe if you only have a couple posts and you do that they will ban you.

They do their job very good and unbiased.

Although I wish that they would write more about why they lock threads and put people on probation etc etc. Some seem to do it, others don't.

But they do what they are suppose to do, and I salute them!

sometimes i don't understand why people get suspended/ put on probation, but usually they are right about the stuff they do.

They seem to completely overreact to a lot of stuff. I don't understand why a lot of people are suspended and stuff. It seems like pure bullshit to me, to be honest.

At the risk of being put on probation some people get suspended for put on probation for not really saying anything wrong.

I don't mean this in a negative way, but providing examples of bans/suspensions/probations would probably help them understand what you mean. You won't get into trouble unless you are rude about it.

Honestly, no one has the right to ***** on here. Im not dicksucking the mods, because I'm saying this from experience. Honestly, the mods are top notch, they don't abuse their power, and are ready to right any wrong they should make. Honestly, they're good people

P.S. i was wondering how do you acctualy become a mod? do you just get randomly chosen or what?
