Guns in general. I liked it back when soldiers fought up-close and personal with swords and other melee weapons.

Why, you're one of those people who promote the new melee weapons in TF2? If good Lord would've wanted the Demoman and Soldier be meleeists, He wouldn't have made them Scottish and given them an explosive tube to fight with. Be it damascus steel or not, sharp edges are for sissies if you can go for a few metric tons of explosives. You a sissy, boy?

Various flame-based weapons, napalm and fuel bombs and such. Burning your victims to death is just being a dick, and causes a lot of unneccessary suffering in addition to torching natural habitants and civilian areas.

I can think of many, but I have to say gas is the most horrible one.

I might be wrong, but isn't it the only weapon banned from war by the UN? That's at least one good reason.

It isn't the only one but it was one of the first. I'd say it's a tossup between gas (mustard, nerve, etc) and any kind of biological weapons. Land mines would be a close third, mainly because their purpose is to maim rather than kill.
