Impractical? The Experimental MIRV in Fallout 3. Awesome? Yes. But there's no area in the game where it is actually useful; frankly, you'd be lucky to even survive firing it.

A portable nuclear bomb launcher that fires 8 nukes in Fallout 3. A single nuke kills everything(including yourself if you don't aim beforehand) but instead it fires 8. Aside from looking cool it has no practical use besides burning through a very limited supply of super-ammo.

The Crossbow from Deus Ex.

I must be doing something wrong, because I have NEVER been able to get that piece of junk to work properly. It has always been far more efficient for me to knife, or hell, even sneak past the A.I rather than using it.

That is true but I just mean when in reality would you ever see someone use something like that. It's fine for games because it's different I just feel that they are pretty impractical although entertaining.
what about the shock and awe effect? A guy with a gun is one thing, and guy with a gun that shoots shurikens and lightning is quite another.

Those bug things in the original Half-Life.
Those things attack you if you try to use them! What was the point of them?

It doesn't even do any damage, although if you do it enough times to someone in multiplayer, they cry like a baby.

The Finger from Worms.

*Poke* 1 damage!
In a world of high powered, over the top, and down right silly weapons, the finger is the ultimate in humiliation deaths. The Finger: Water way to go! Order now and we'll include a little old lady at no extra charge.

They required strategy. Its kind of like having minions in an RPG, except that you need to make sure that you remember to clean up when you finished with the enemies.

It's kind of hard to do that when they have the eyesight of the enemies in Farcry and are to fast to hit.

any gun ever that never allows a head shot, even at point blank.
ergo...the assault rifle out of the halo series[smg from 2] even on easy, right up against a grunt it wouldn't score a head shot.
same as the lancer in gears

Also, melee attacks that aren't area specific - poking in the foot is as lethal as in the jugular!

The Chinese Pistol in Fallout 3.

Has anyone ever used that piece of junk?
No, the .32 cal pistol is worse. Much worse. Maxes out at 4 DMG not the 5 DMG that the Chinese pistol has.

But that's not the worst, the worst is the Plasma Pistol from Halo. That thing is "shite on a crusty role" to quote Yahtzee out of context.
not if you charge it!if you succesfully hit someone with it,it makes an easy headshot in multiplayer with the BR or DMR

Anything with the "Terrible Carnage" suffix in Borderlands. They're showy and entertaining, of course, but they're bloody f**king useless. Likewise with the Boomstick.
