It was a Friday night, some time in December. Me and a friend were playing the very first Halo. We were on board one of the Covenant's ships that either landed or crash landed on Halo's desert regions(I can quite remember.) And we were well into the mission when we came across a long sprawling hallway. At first there was no patrol in sight and we were about to proceed when a pair of Jackals turned the corner and came towards us. Our first reaction was to fire at them but i quickly stopped my friend, saying "Wait, wait, they don't see us yet!"
A golden opportunity had presented itself. Thanks to them being unaware of our presence, we had a peculiar and rare advantage over these dime o' dozen snipers. My friend, feeling the wiser, kept his sniper scope trained on them from our far end of the hall. Feeling brave myself,I decide to take a leap, or, in this case, the throw of faith. With plasma in hand I hurl the sticky blue sphere at the pair in hopes of scoring a sticky double kill by planting it on the right hand Jackal, and it ends up in failure, however a very good and rather amazing failure.
While they were still some distance away in this unnecessarily long corridor, this stick, rather than landing on my intended target instead lands smack dab in the middle of them. Reacting to the grenade's sudden landing, the jackals first turn to look in terror at the blue glow, and then turn to run, they only make the 360 degree turn before it blows.
Oh the fun it was!
