I think it was the best Harry Potter film so far.

I was less diapointed because they had more of the book there which is why i like harry potter.

Ive been disapointed by all of the other films because of how much they cut out.

The beginning of the book is a fetch quest. It's all build-up for a big finish. And a big finish it is.

I wonder how they'll handle the epilogue in the book though...

Who expects a Harry Potter movie to be an action movie, seriously?
It's Harry Potter, not Die Hard.

After I went to the Terminator: Salvation because of the trailer and fell asleep, and after different causes but same result in that-recent-movie-about-dreams-in-dreams-I-don't-remember-title-of, I always read a lot of reviews first now.

This was my thought. OP, have you read the books? That's what they were. They weren't really action books.
However, I could have told you the movie would suck. Books rarely translate into movies that well. They're just different mediums. And the Harry Potter books have a bad track record as it is. Admittedly maybe finally splitting the books into two movies might help, but I'm not getting hopeful.

I thought it was a great movie. Then again, I knew what it was gonna be about, more or less, because I have read the book.

That series has been getting progressively better over the years, as the actors mature (maybe a little TOO much) the director improves (fuck the guy who direct Sorcerer's Stone. Fuck him in the ass.) and the series generally gets less bad.

I went to Potter 7 at midnight, and thought it was the best movie of the series yet. If you didn't like it, fuck you. And your grandma. And your favorite color, if applicable.

EDIT: And the action scenes being spread thin build up the suspense. Douchebag.

I was really looking forward to this movie because the previews showed a movie with a lot of action, and fighting scenes in it, and what i saw was a 2 and a half hour drama with light action. I wouldn't complain if they had not adverticed this as the wrong movie so im angry that they lied to me. So who else was dissapointed by this movie.
The films in two parts....most of the action in the books is in the final half....do the math.

And you weren't dissapointed with the last 6 films? I've seen them all once out of loyalty to the books which I really enjoyed. I have never once walked away from a HP film and thought it was good, or worth seeing again.
[sub]and no I haven't seen the new movie yet[/sub]

I would LOVE to see them skip that horrid epilogue. Those were the worst lines in the entire series.

Have you read the books? Because if you have, you would have known all they do is freaking walk around the woods for 400 pages. They made a good movie based on the material they had to work with, not great, but watchable. And really, they are just setting up the next one.
I agree with this. And I thought it was a bloody good movie, though I'm one of those people who enjoys pretty much anything Potter-related.

I also agree with this. Being faithful to the book was always better than packing the film with action scenes in my eyes. Those scenes they added in HBP felt really tacked on.

Whats disappointing is your grammar sir. Not only that but if you want a huge action movie with fight scenes then maybe you should have chosen a... Oh whats the name for it... Action Movie!

The only thing I did not like about the last film installment was the soundtrack. Not as single memorable tune in there :/

*Somewhat spoilery I suppose*

I'd like the movie a lot more if the end wasn't essentially the end of this video:

Harry potter films have always been like that.

If you wanted to see something with more "action" watch the Expendables or one of those cheesy 80s action flicks instead.

Well personally i thought it was a great movie, unlike the other potter movies it didn't jump from action scene to action scene and paced itself allowing some atomsphere to be built which is gonna make part 2 an amazing film.
