Surprisingly it's an actual good remake of one of my favorite games of all time!
So what are your opinions about the game?
Are you gonna buy it yourself or just discuss about the old-skewl version?
In my opinion my favorite Gym Leader was most definitely would be the 7th one.
I loved his icy puzzle!

What's so special about his pokewalker? Please inform me. I'm not sarcastic, I just don't know anything about it.

"The Pokéwalker is a pedometer device bundled with Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver that can interact with the games in various manners. " etc.

You can:

Level up whichever pokemon you have win it while walking.

Catch pokemon that aren't available during regular gameplay.

Find items, and even get items from friends.

And best of all....

GET EXCERCISE!

Or is that worst of all?

(Also, I'm still waiting for my games to arrive. :( )

Sounds pretty lame. I walk 20 or so kilometers per day (job) so I get plenty of exercise and I'd level the hell out of them. :D
But I could just easily obtain the unobtainable pokemans by trading. So... I don't know. Nothing special.

I really want it. Gold was the first pokeman game i ever hadf and it hooked me into the franchise. I've tried diamnod but i really want my Cyndaquil and the fun that game gave.

Plus sentimental value

I'm probably going to emulate it...though I would then be missing out on the Pokewalker thing.I always loved the idea of the Grind aspect of pokemon games being cut down a bit,so this should be pretty interesting.

And Gold/Silver were the best pokemon games.By far!

The pokewalker requires an impractically large amount of steps (20,000 or so) to level up even at low levels, and if you do things like battle/catch wild pokemans or try and find items, it uses up some of the experience.

As I've said 3 times on the Escapist, my copy of silver got stolen before I got to the 2nd gym leader back when the original GB version came out, so I had to have this and it's the most recent pokemon I played besides FireRED (remake of red)and all I gotta say its wow I like it a lot. :|

I ordered Soul Silver and had it imported to me months ago because I have little to no life. I also preordered both American versions so, I have 3 pokewalkers around. I used to own Silver and it was my favorite one but a bastard relation took it away from me but, I suppose these things happen. I am on playthrough #3 of JP-SS [facing 8th gym leader ATM], playthrough #1 of US-HG [pre 1st gym leader] and US-SS is unopened at the moment. I am going to be opening it soon to download the yellow forest pokewalker course. I can't wait to see more about the upcoming game though! I think they are going to be Pokemon Light and Darkness or something like that. Zoark is an Evil Fox type or something so, why not? They haven't touched too heavily on light and dark in a while...they did in GX I think...I never had the gamecube games

I got Soul Silver and just caught Lugia. I have been overflowing with nostalgia for the past week and that moment was the new peak. It did seem a little easy to catch him though, maybe all of the other legendary pokemon they put in the game will be harder.

Pokemon red and blue are the only ones that I will ever acknowledge, back when there were 150 pokemon.
152.

You forgot Mew and MissingNo.

No Mew for 151?

And Ho-Oh appeared in the first episode and he was #250.

I do agree with you though some of the later ones are abominations.

Obviously a hardcore gangsta if he stole Pokémon.

MissingNo isn't #152. Its name literally is Missing Number, so putting a number on it seems so contradictory.

I liked Gold and Silver, though not as much as R/B/Y. I accept that there are 251 Pokémon. (Celebi's 251, right?)

ooh, suckage there about UK. youre next, tho. hey, you COULD be in Africa... phnarr. anyway, yes, the new games are worth it. i just got to the elite four in HG and am having a blast. the safari zone has better pokemon, Misdreavus ftw, and its neither too easy nor too hard. there are hard scenarios, sure, but some out-of-the-box thinking will help a lot. for example, my first try against morty, he smoked me immediately. the next time around, i smartened up and found out through experience that the only attacking move his gengar had was shadow ball, so i plopped my pidgeotto in front of it. all he could do was spam hypnosis until he ran out of pp, and then i wore him down.
