Exactly,anyone making comments along the line of generation 1 was best is having their judgment clouded by irrational nostalgia. The battle system and graphics are now so much better,and if you dont like the new pokemon you dont have to use them! This holds particularly true in heart gold/soul silver were the majority of the pokemon are 1st and 2nd generation so if you want a team full of old favourites with all the improvments 4th generation brings than this is it. gold/silver was my favourite generation by far,most of my favourite pokemon are 2nd generation and so i cant wait for the uk release,which by the way is bloody ridiculous,later than australias ffs! With no obvious reason.

Personally I love all the Pokemon games. I personally think that you're just ruining it for yourself if you're one of those who hates all the new additions. I think that the additions only make them better.

I would love to buy it! But I'll wait until the summer, because my DS is actually my sister's DS and she's away at university until the end of April-ish.

I feel like, the first 151 Pokemon are "real," but then there are a certain number of Pokemon afterwards which are also "real." Umbreon and Espeon? Totally logical. Slugma? Not so much. That thing that turns into household appliances? Absolutely not.

I don't get all the hate with the new pokemon. I've played every generation and I like pokemon from all of them. Some are downright stupid but for the most parts there is nothing wrong with with them.

Anyway I can't get HG or SS yet. It isn't released until Thursday. Oh well.

And Ho-Oh appeared in the first episode and he was #250.

I do agree with you though some of the later ones are abominations.

As I've said 3 times on the Escapist, my copy of silver got stolen before I got to the 2nd gym leader back when the original GB version came out, so I had to have this and it's the most recent pokemon I played besides FireRED (remake of red)and all I gotta say its wow I like it a lot. :|

Obviously a hardcore gangsta if he stole Pokémon.

No idea who took it or why but I lost my porkemons that's for sure.
