Ehm actually some customiseable weapons require u to have a certain light/dark rank to be able to equip. U will notice this alot the longer u get into the game. Then again u can use the same lightsaber that u got at like lvl 10 when ur lvl 50 as long as u change the mods.
And if you want to RP a smuggler u will do what ur employer tells u to smuggle for example. If that happens to be radiactive kittens u will still smuggle them cause thats what u get paid to do while u may react differently to a hostage situation lets say. There ur job is to get the ppl out alive since thats what they hired u for not to just kill the bad guys and not care about the hostages.
And as for u getting less credits for picking light side we both know that aint true since the reward is the same its just the reputation with chars and light/dark points thats different with a few noteable exceptions like for example on tython when u discover 2 padawans who are in love with each other. There the dark side nets u a crystal. But then again u get the same crystal later on when ur forging the lightsaber anyhow....
