OT: Which pokemon was shown at the end of episode one?
Ho-oh.

New question: what was the pokemon that attacked Ash and Pikachu at the end of Episode 1?
Spearow. Ash threw a rock at one and majorly pissed it off, thinking it was a pidgey.

What does the "Mold Breaker" ability do?
It cancels out it's opponent's ability when the pokemon with Mould Breaker is sent out onto the field.

Makes Shedinja practically useless.

wow, that was like four posts, almost in a row! alright, time for some questions!

in generation 1 (not counting version exclusives or pokemon that evolved by trading) which pokemon were impossible to obtain using only one game cartridge?

when was the first and only occasion in the pokemon francise that it was implied that pokemon "die" instead of faint?

in the pokemon adventures manga, what and who's pokemon has the nickname Mimi?

in the poketch building, an old man will confirm something for the first time in the English versions of the game, what is it?

when does the location in which Feebas can be caught change in Gen 3?

Was one of the gen 1 pokemon that was impossible to obtain with 1 cartridge Weedle, if you used Pokemon Yellow?

Feebas changes location whenever you restart the game, and appears in only 6 squares in one route.
Death reference first occured when Cubone was first introduced, as it wears it's mum's skull as a helmet. Marowak ghost is another reference, as is the whole lavender town pokemon tower. Hoenn's pokemon tower is another reference to death, although I forget it's name.
And if you really want to read into things, you killed your rival's Raticate in Gen I and III.

My turn to give a question: What recurring character (Not in the main group) has repeatedly got the better of James, and how many times have they done so?

6 squares is right, but they change whenever the Dewford trendy phrase changes

you didn't read my question right, we know pokemon die, i asked when it says they die "instead of fainting"

feebas is right, but again i must stress that the question was when it says die instead of "faint"!

in the original pokemon stadium, if you send in a pokemon who's health is in the red, the narrator will say that it might die any minute

Really? Damn. I wish I'd known that. I thought they were set in stone. :D
In which case, I'm going to have to go with one of the gamecube games, where a commentator mentions that "it looks like they're dying out there" or something. I don't remember properly, I've never owned those ones. I think it was colossium?

Which was the first (probably only) evolutionary family that GameFreak re-typed in a generation shift?

Which was the SECOND generation to have a glitch pokemon called "missingno"? Describe how to activate the glitch in that generation.

Well I'm giving myself the "most obscure piece of ancient Pokemon minutiae" award, since nobody here knew that Omanyte had the prototype English name of Ess (Omastar was Cargo, get it?).

I'm not even making this up, folks. Other prototype English names included:
Arbo for Ekans (which apparently they saved for its evolution)
Att for Kabuto
Lantis for Kabutops (again, not even kidding)
Ptera for Aerodactyl (in this case, simply keeping its Japanese name).

Magnemite and Magneton. In Gen 1 they were eletric type but from Gen 2 and onward they became Eletric AND Steel.

I have no idea for the answer to question 2

Here is a question that may take a while without looking online. Name all of the Gen 1 Pokemon's that appear from Gen 2 to Gen 4 (excluding Black and White) that you can always encounter and capture before defeating the Elite 4.

ugh! i know i looked those up! thank god they didn't use them! i mean, Foxfire for Vulpix? that's so unimaginative! it's not bad for a nickname but not a species name!
