I had the same exact problem playing Oblivion recently. My game was autosaving when it froze, and now the save file is corrupted. I can load an earlier save from like 30 hours ago, but most everything I worked for in that game is gone.

I played Tak and the Power of JuJu for the first time in forever. Unfortunately when I got to the mummies that you have to bring to the big dome-like tomb, the mummies were invisible. I need a new gamecube.

I...am mad. After just completing a rather difficult mission in [Prototype], the game starts its autosave function. As any good gamer would know, YOU DO NOT FUCK WITH A GAME WHILE ITS AUTOSAVING. Unfortunately, my 360 also froze at this point, leaving me with no option but to turn off the console (I waited a good 15 minutes for the game to unfreeze itself). Now I have a corrupted save slot in [Prototype], a bad mood, and I am too annoyed to want to start all over again. Hell, what if I start over again only to have this happen to me again?

...Because this thread is pretty much a rant, and therefore not discussion worthy, I will add a question: What really annoying hardware issues have screwed up your gaming experiences before?

NOTE- Anybody who gets the reference in this thread's title gets a cookie.

I not really had any hardware problems with my systems.{I gotall 3.} Stuff like that is why i buy the ps3 version of a multiplatform most of the time. Plus blu ray quality video and sound.

edit I did have problem withthe 360 oblvion not wanting to install the si expansion pack.

The Futurama episode, The Problem with Poplers? Or was that in and of itself a reference to something else?
Very close. Said Futurama episode title is a reference to the Star Trek episode, "The Trouble with Tribbles."
...I say we count it. I mean, come on!

Also, a problem I have is that, every now and then, one of the side keys (A and D) will stick for no reason, and then it will go back to normal after I pause. Also, it doesn't count that I hold Ctrl, meaning that in the games where I have that mapped to crouch (pretty much every game but FEAR), I'll basically be teabagging my way across the floor.

Pokémon Gold. I had Celebi, man. That internal battery, fuck.

Still pisses me off when I think about it.

Oblivion: Crashes a lot.
Try playing it with 45 mods active. 30 minutes of playtime is an eternity.

My first time through TES: Oblivion, I got really far and had a ton of side quests and many guilds finished, and my game freezes, later corrupting the file.

"FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-"

I did end up restarting, though, because I was a big fan of the game at the time. Ending fails, though.

Best. Episode. Ever. Especially if you go meta and watch Shatner's face when he's buried in that pile of them, he's trying really fucking hard not to laugh out loud because there's someone dropping Tribbles on him from the ceiling panel.

On-topic, that blows hard man. I offer my condolences for your lost data. I've written over my Pokemon save data more than once, though I blame the programmers for not adding two more slots. I want to play with all three starters, dammit!

so your 360 fucks up, and your blaming the game?
Read before posting, he said it messed up while he was playing, so he was frustrated, then he asks us what our annoying hardware problems are.

I got a real bad freeze in Prototype. I was having one of those "This is the reason I love video games," moments, and the whole damn thing locked up. I restarted the console and installed the game. She's run smoother than a porn star's rear since.

How is that the games fault?
Seriously read his post, he asks at the end what your frustating hard-ware issues are.
I did and chose not to answer his question. I'm just wondering how he thinks his 360 freezing is the game's "fault", as he implies with the title of this thread.

The fucking auto-save system on Mass Effect fucked me over so bad my secound chance for the game ended. It all started on Nuveria or somthing like that and I got to the part where I was driving in the blizard well I got to the boss lady completly unprepared and died, after all that annoying running around and fucking with terminals and talking to a repettitive hologram I died and you know where that game sent me back to? Me driving up the mountain in the blizard. I said fuck it and I havent played it sense.
