In relation to GG, i'm here to talk about what's been going on on 4chan, and it's bad, it's really bad.
While reading i suggest listening to one of these at the same time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrkzIN2eP0U
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1_4f17QBlA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ayMp6K8pwg

When GG first began on /v/, it was like a joke, but people started becoming more and more interested in it, at it's best, the threads would autosage in about 10 minutes (more or less) and the productivity of the people in the thread was amazing, that is before GG got really big, big to the point where bots would be spamming the threads, spamming the report function, (basically, the 10 first posts on every GG threads would be "penis", cant make this shit up), additionnaly, there would be shills, (notably Zoe herself), posting, and trying to make us attack her.
You heard me. There would be posts like "Guys we really need to kill that c*nt who's up for it?", and coincidentally she would screencap her post and put it on twitter (check her twitter, if she deleted it i'll dig the old archives), how's that for false flagging? And then finally a there would be a HUGE amount of newfags, which really corrupted the board, but that's not all that bad since you can easily tell who is old and new.

Then the great censoring came, and moot abandoned us, spam ensued (it was pretty amazing on /sp/ http://puu.sh/bM6Z9/0d3f7d4eed.webm). And then we discovered stuff about moot, stuff that would change us forever, moot not only divided us, he hangs out with SJWs, his GF works at fucking Gawker (http://puu.sh/bM75F/c8c015bf91.png), he attended a XOXO conference, even spoke there which made a lot of anons doubt moot.
What happened afterwards, you must be aware of it, is the (not so)great exodus, where a -ton- of people started leaving 4chan, mainly to go on 8chan, which was nice and all at the beginning until it got pretty hard to browse it.

Basically, you would get huge spam attacks(chek'em), constant DDOS, a lot of shilling (GUYS LET'S ATTACK/RAID LEL) and it would be really hard to even browse it, I didn't abandon it though, i browse it from time to time, but it's just really hard, you can't even open a webm because it's so laggy it's impossible.

But meanwhile on /pol/, people start to figure stuff out, at the beginning it all just sounds very unlikely and strange (http://puu.sh/bM7pj/f1e8b84057.jpg), and then the theories became more and more logical, with the rantic "stunt", things became clear(for a /pol/tard), the goal being to
1.make people hate 4chan and raise awareness about its "bigotry"(fappening)
2.make a lot of newfags rush in(Start of GG)
3.make oldfags leave to change the site (censoring of 4c)
4.state a clear goal: destroy 4chan (rantic)
But 4chan is not going to get deleted, far from that, it's going to die and come back as a mainstream site, the oldfags will leave, the essence of the site will die, and moot keeps his dosh. http://youtu.be/tuAKFGNIcBg

Seeing as I only go on /tg/ to talk shit about Warhammer, I don't really care what happens to the rest of the site. And /tg/ has its own wiki if the board itself ever implodes.

The neverending saga of 4chan continues. They should turn this stuff into a novel. Maybe throw some hobbits and a ring in and make it really epic.

I wonder if 4chan would be the good or the bad guy in such a novel..

All things considered, I'm going to go with "Yes."
You know 4Chan could pull that off somehow.

I have such mixed feelings about it. /co/ is pretty mythical, and /v/ was pretty fun when they first opened it, before it became so ridiculous that they had to make /vg/. Also there was some surprisingly good art on /a/ and /cm/.

But at the same time, people were such poops on it that it could sometimes really ruin things. Like /lit/ could be ridiculously pretentious sometimes and /r9k/ was alternatively amazing and also eyesearing with the randomness you'd see on it.

Storytime on /co/ though, I'll never forget how much fun that was.

The theories on /pol/ at the moment are crackpot-level man. It's on the level of /x/ right now.

When we started doxxing the guys who were behind emmayouarenext they already "figured out" that the NSA was behind this planting a false Flag to shut down 4chan probably together with moot who had been brainwashed by Anita.

And while the real anon was busy pulling information out of botnet.txt and doing the real work in the IRC-chat, these idiots were playing Six degrees of Seperation with gamergate , some SJW-Conspiracy and the US-Goverment.
/pol/ has officially lost his marbles on this issue. anon knows who is behind this and so are a couple of Journalists.

Try to control your Victim-complex once in a while, it might help.

This whole mess is just truly insane. It really makes me wonder what's going on in the background, if anything. It's dreadfully annoying to see that this is how things have gone, but... This kind of stuff makes it kinda fun~ I like internet conspiracies!

I think what bothers me is that 4chan or users of it see themselves as a 'last bastion' or some kind oppressed minority when they themselves have been waging a war for cultural dominance on the internet since forever. Far too long places like 4chan has colored internet discourse into (as that Alex guy said) a 'Teenage Nihilist Mosh-pit.' It seems impossible to go anywhere on the internet without tripping over some cultural artifact spread by their conquest. (anime avatars, defacto hatred of some groups, memes, 'ironic' racism/sexism)

They are so used to getting their way rhetorically they suddenly collapse when they are held accountable. As in, to treat them as if you were dealing with a person in real life: You stand up to them, make them accountable for their words. When this happens, places like 4chan crumble because they have no standard of being as people and users of those websites.

There are way too many people who think that life is a Reality TV show, and they want to be at the heart of the "drama", no matter the cost to their dignity or integrity, or the well being of anyone else. The apocalypse really was yesterday, and today is the aftermath.

So... what's the next "Gate"?

"Waging a war of cultural dominance"? Holy shit dude, talk about crackpots. 4chan has always been just a board without moderation. The reason you see 4chan-related things elsewhere is because people visit 4chan and spread that to other parts of the internet because THEY as an INDIVIDUAL they like it.

The fact that someone considers 4chan a united front fighting a cultural war is hilarious.

No wait, it's not, since their crackpot theories mean that now they need to shut it down, control it and moderate it because someone, somewhere on the internet is using words not on my Approved List.

I'm hoping Alan Titchmarsh gets embroiled in a sex scandal, then we can have GardenGate.
Well when he got his knighthood the queen said to him "You've made a lot of women very happy"
True.

But then again he does write erotic fiction...

I think reading erotic fiction in Alan Titchmarsh's voice is best reserved for people who have committed serious crimes against humanity.
aww man, I need to commit some heinous crime now?

ok off to 4chan I go then... keep the padded cell warm

Jegus I dont even wanna touch this GG thing with a rusty flaming pole made of solid typhoid. Look at this crazy shit, hundreds of these stupid "deconstruction posts" with MS paint red lines drawn all over tweets and 4 chan posts, false false false false flag accusations that just go on and on, the INSANE idea this is some sort of "culture" war when to be honest anyone remotely sane has left this ship, which i hesitate to call sinking since its scraping the bottom of the marina trench.

Theres no resistance, theres no "Super leet secret underground culture front against the SJW horde", i dont think theres even a SJW horde since i apparently hang around in their headquarters (tumblr?) and i see literally none of this shit. I get the impression 4chan thinks they are this:

When whats actually happening is this:

Honestly the inability for anyone involved here to just take a step back and review this like a rational adult is why this debacle is a shit flinging contest on crack. The reason this "Gate" hasnt followed the same path as any other gate in journalistic history is that the discourse broke down almost immediately. Tito wrote one of the only non partisan posts on the subject rather recently and thats only why i have ANY sort of idea what the hell is going on.
