The scary thread

I couldn't leave this thread without adding something to it. It might not be that great as I wrote it in about 15 minutes, so don't judge me to harshly.

Hell

So this was hell. She knew why she was here. She hadn't lived a good life. She had cheated those she loved. Taken from those who had nothing. While alive she had been the CEO of a major insurance company and she would be lying if she said she had never denied coverage to those who deserved it. Yet strapped to the chair, unable to move, she couldn't help but think that even she didn't deserve this. Surely this punishment went far beyond her crimes?

The chair she was strapped into, as well as a small table beside her, were the only things in the room, which looked as if it was part of an old abandoned building. She had been there for 5 minutes and nothing had happened so far. Maybe things weren't as bad as they seemed? But just as hopeful the thought crossed her mind, a man walked into the room. With him he carried a brown bag which he placed upon the table.

"Please", she begged. "Please don't hurt me, I'll do anything you want"

The man didn't say a word, he simply opened the bag and began to place its contents out on the table. Among them she saw razor blades, knives, saws, hooks, pliers, a blow torch and other torture instruments.

She couldn't comprehend what she was seeing, what she knew was about to take place. And then she screamed. And she screamed. And she screamed. As loud as she could until finally, after he had finished unpacking the back, the man put his hand over her mouth to quite her.

"Please stop screaming", he whispered in her ear. "We haven't even started yet".

And then he began his work. He would use one instrument, then the switch to another, then another. He tore her apart piece by piece until eventually, after hours of pain worse than she could ever imagine, she finally felt it. The feeling what she had been waiting to feel the entire time. She could feel her life slipping away. She was about to die... again. But if she died in hell, surely that would be the end of it. She was sure her punishment had finished. This would finally be over.

But even as the thought crossed her mind, the feeling disappeared. Her flesh began to tingle and she could feel her body being repaired. Her skin knitted itself back together until she was whole again, as perfectly healthy as she had been when she first found herself in the room. She didn't understand. She wanted to die. She wanted this to end. And instead she had been rebuilt, had gone from barely resembling a human to not having a scratch on her. And so once again she began to scream. And scream. And scream.

After a few seconds the man walked over to her. He held the first torture device he had used on her in one hand and covered her mouth with the other.

"Please stop screaming", he whispered in her ear. "We haven't even started yet".

Yeah... as you know, I don't write them, and I don't actively look out for them. So really, everything is just by chance, if I find a creepy thread on one of the forums I frequent, and even then, I need to find a story that hasn't been posted in this thread, which, this thread being 38 pages long is pretty hard. Also, the story needs to be good, so, it's hard to find stories, or even pictures worth being put in this thread.

But yeah, now that you mention it, why not. I'll look for stories.

Spoiler: Homsar's Nightmare

I've been a fan of Homstar Runner (A web series) for a long long time. My favorite character of the show, was Homsar, a character created from mispelling Homestar's name. Around Halloween last year, after watching an episode of Strong Bad Email (I forget which one), I decided to Email him, asking for an episode that focused on Homsar. I know that Strong Bad had already talked about Homsar at least twice, but I decided Asking couldn't hurt, and I knew I probably would not get what I asked.

However, a few weeks later, when I had completely forgotten I had even emailed Strong Bad, I had an email from him. I opened it up. The fallowing is copy/paste of what was in the email:

Dude, why the hell did you make me do that?!! For the love of god man!! What I saw can't be TAKEN AWAY!!!!!!! I can't stop thinking about it!! If I had known! If I had only known!! You screwed me over kid!!! God damn it!! You made me do it!! Take this footage I got and keep it forever!!!! I don't care what you do with it man, just keep it away from me!!!! God help me god help me god help me god help me god help me god help me god help me god help me god help me god help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111111111

Attached to it was a file entitled "Homsar's Nightmare". I thought "What the hell? Are the Chapman Brothers(The guys who make the cartoons) Screwing with me?" Since I was fearing the worst, and since I had already read a ton of Creepypasta's on the web beforehand, I decided to ignore it and watch it later in the middle of the day. The next morning, the Email was still there, with the same attachment. I downloaded it, and though it took an hour, it finally downloaded.

The cartoon starts out normal enough, with Homsar walking in the middle of the night as Halloween themed music plays. However, the music starts to deteriorate and come to a complete stop by the time Homsar runs into the woods. Marzipan and Strong Sad are talking about something (There audio is poorly recorded, I could hardly hear it), when Homsar comes up with an unusual smile. Strong Sad said (With the Audio going in and out, so I guessed on what I could hear) "Hey Homsar, would you like to join our wood carving?" Then, Homsar lets out a blood curdling moan (It was like a Creeper's "About to Explode" noise, but 10x more terrifying), with his mouth growing larger and larger and exposing horrendous teeth. His eyes began to grow red and he had a cynical smile on his face as Marzipan and Strong Sad begin to run. Homsar pounced on Marzipan, and she coughed out blood.

Suddenly, the animation style changed from it's normal cartoony feel to one of a more Darker and serious tone. Homsar and Marzipan looked almost realistic, but you could still tell they were animated characters. Homsar began eating Marzipan as she screamed in terror and panic. Blood was shooting out everywhere and organs were being flung. Homsar was eating Marzipan for over 3 minutes before it went back to being cartoony; however, Homsar remained looking like a terrifying monster.

The screen faded out to black, but then came back to a First Person Camera view, with Homstar and Strong Bad (And presumebly The Cheat, who I think was holding the camera and making some noises) freaking out in the middle of the Woods. The audio was distorted bad, but it was understandable and pretty loud. Strong Bad was being dead serious during this scene while Homstar would suggest silly idea's on how to deal with Homsar, including: "Let's get our Ghost Traps and catch him that way", "Let's consult a Priest on the subject", and "How about we escape through a closet to Narnia". After Strong Bad rejected several of the ideas, they heard Strong Mad yelling in the distance, and the 3 run to see if he's alright. Hiding behind a tree (and still in first person camera view BTW), the 3 watched as Strong Mad was barely keeping the Mostrous Homsar away. Homsar yelled in a horrendous voice "All I want to do is eat your brains" as he began tearing away at Strong Mad's flesh.

When Homsar was done grisly killing Strong Mad, he turned his attention to Homestar, Strong Bad and The Cheat, who all began to run away from the monster. An Anguished Cry of Homestar and his blood soaked hat flying off indicated that Homestar fell and was killed. The Cheat and Strong Bad hid in a cave, both crying uncontrollably and scared out of their mind. Strong Bad began to leave behind a will giving stuff to other characters (Who I presumed had also been killed). When Homsar's demonized version of his "Aaaaah!" Came near the cave, both of them shut up, only for Strong Bad to be pulled into the darkness towards a pair of Red dots. The Cheat, freaking out, ran away from the red dots, but the camera fell over and the Cheat screamed into the darkness. Homsar's feet, which was covered in yellow hairs and blood, came in front of the Camera, and he yelled "Now it's your turn" as he made another horrendous hissing noise.

Suddenly, the cartoon went to Homsar's normal face with his eyes closed. He opened them up (They were normal), and the camera panned out to show that he was in Strong Bad's Computer room. Homsar was his old, abnormal self, and on Strong Bad's computer was the email I had written to him. Strong Bad popped his head in and yelled at Homsar to get out of his house. Homsar just stared at him, as the camera zoomed in on him. He then said "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry", as his mouth opened large and the terrible hissing returned...

Spoiler: Failed Rituals

I really wish I had left that fucking light switch alone. Who would have thought the flick of a switch could mean the difference between life and death. Actually everyone?s thought that. That?s why I turned it on. Stupid little rituals that we take from childhood. The light will chase the monsters away, the blanket over your head will save you from the boogie man. And you just get more of these rituals as you get older. As long as you lock the doors and turn on the home security system, you can rest your head happily in your cozy little fortified home. No killers or psychos, monsters or boogie men.

But it doesn?t work. None of it. We always slip up some how. The one time you forget to lock that door. That?s when they get you. I would have been sound asleep if I hadn?t been woken by the loud slam as the front door blew open. I stumbled out of bed and down the hall to see it swinging back and forth. I moved quickly down the hall to secure it. A moment of panic swelled inside of me. My home felt like a crime scene. It wasn?t my safe little sanctum anymore.

Despite the overwhelming feeling of intrusion, there was no sign of disruption. Just the door. Just my careless mistake. I couldn?t comprehend it at first. It had to be a burgler or some psycho. I looked around the rest of the house. Checking every cupboard, every crevice. Nothing. I felt stupid but relieved. I just wanted to get back to bed, to forget this whole embarrassment. I flung myself back down on my bed, closed my eyes for just a second. I sat back up. There was no way I?d fall asleep unless I double-checked that I locked the door this time. I mean I was sure I had done it this time but I felt this was justified paranoia.

I got to the door and twisted the handle roughly about a dozen times, each time feeling the resistance of the lock. I smiled. Safe. I turned on my heels to go back to bed. But it was just a glimpse, a flicker of something in my peripheral vision that sent me swinging back into a panic. A shadow from the kitchen. I rushed in only to be confronted by my normal kitchen, bathed in moonlight. I sighed, questioned my sanity and decided that this, the longest night of my life must end. I went towards the bedroom once more. Another odd shadow crossed my path. As a shiver travelled down my spine, my tired mind braced apathetic denial and decided that it was probably the neighbours cat passing by the moonlit window.

I sat wide awake in my bed. Trying to lull myself to sleep. Counting in my head until I might eventually nod off. But everytime I closed my eyes that feeling of intrusion was still there. The hands of something unseen looming above my head. Every creak and every shadow filled my mind with the dread of my childhood. Those nights after being tucked in by my parents. Those same fearful thoughts of lurking terror. But it was nothing? right? More creaks. More movement in the shadows. I turned and pushed my face into the pillow. I felt something brush passed my foot which stuck awkwardly out from under my blanket.

I jolted upright, looking deeply into the darkness. Swirling shadows. The monsters. The boogie men. I felt around sheepishly for my phone. The dull light of the screen could put me at ease. Nothing on the nightstand and when my fingers roamed around the edge of the bed, instinctively I retracted them for fear of the unknown. I was alone but in the shadows I saw them, the monsters. Inky abominable beasts.

It was the only thing I thought could help me. I lunged from the bed directly at the switch. My palm slammed down on it and the room erupted into light. My eyes burned momentarily and I glanced round the room. Empty. Safe. Just paranoia. I shook my head and hit the switch once more. Climbing into bed in the pitch black. No shadows without my nightvision. But now I hear them. I can?t see them now. I don?t know what they want but I know I can?t leave. The rituals have failed. They?re on the other side of this blanket and all I can do now is hope that they?re gone in the morning.

I glance at my shoes and resist the urge to bite my nails.

Emma notices. "Are you sure you want to do this? We could always go back home..."

Her voice holds a note of false concern. It's a loaded question, just like always.

"I'm definitely sure," I say. My voice is unwavering. "It's straight down the hall, then through the big doors on the left, right?"

She nods, almost hiding her smirk, and unlocks the door. It creaks open, revealing nothing.

I breathe in deeply, and try to stop thinking about what could be inside. It doesn't work, but I take a leap of faith and walk in anyway, before Emma tries to "reassure" me.

I hear the door shut behind me, but I can't resist peeking back. It's locked. The only way out now is down the hallway, on the left.

My eyes adjust to the darkness, but the murky shapes emerging around me only make it worse. I step tentatively, shuffling my feet. My breathing is quiet. I wonder if anyone can hear it. There could literally be anything in here. My body might not be found for years.

My hand brushes against something moist, and I jerk back. My heart pounds. I squint into the darkness. I whirl around. Nothing's there.

There are so many doors. The windows are papered over. I can't see into the classrooms, but I swear something breathed inside.

I walk past some lockers. Some of them hang open at odd angles. I see a decayed hand protruding through one, jammed tight in the opening.. I blink, and it's gone. Or is it really gone? Maybe it just got pulled into the locker. By something else.

Something that is now behind me, in the dark, dark, hallway.

It's behind me.

Click.

I walk faster. Maybe it's just a clock. Maybe it's an echo. Oh god, let it be a clock.

Click.

My skin goes cold and I run. The walls rustle softly, like wingbeats. There's something wet on the floor. I slip, but drag myself up, sobbing.

Click click click.

I hear harsh breathing behind me. I sprint faster. The breaths rasp and gurgle. Like a drowning person. Like laughing.

Down the hallway, on the left. I can leave, go home, and hide under the blankets. Easy as pie.

Click. Click. Click.

The noises slow down, and I glance behind me. The hallway is empty.

I see the doors. Practically sobbing with relief, I shove them open. I gulp deep breaths. I'm outside. I'm safe. It's alright. Nothing was there.

Emma comes around the corner of the schoolhouse. The shadows thrown by a streetlight distort her body, making her look... odd.

She steps closer, and she's Emma again, the girl I've known since kindergarten. Still a bit shaky, I smile at her.

Emma grins back, her teeth shining. "I assume you didn't die?"

"Not much," I reply. "You?"

Emma's eyes glitter brightly, like a cat's. "So nice," she replies, "So nice of you to inquire."
She makes an odd noise with her tongue, and my eyes widen.

I got to the door and twisted the handle roughly about a dozen times, each time feeling the resistance of the lock. I smiled. Safe. I turned on my heels to go back to bed. But it was just a glimpse, a flicker of something in my peripheral vision that sent me swinging back into a panic. A shadow from the kitchen. I rushed in only to be confronted by my normal kitchen, bathed in moonlight. I sighed, questioned my sanity and decided that this, the longest night of my life must end. I went towards the bedroom once more. Another odd shadow crossed my path. As a shiver travelled down my spine, my tired mind braced apathetic denial and decided that it was probably the neighbours cat passing by the moonlit window.

I sat wide awake in my bed. Trying to lull myself to sleep. Counting in my head until I might eventually nod off. But everytime I closed my eyes that feeling of intrusion was still there. The hands of something unseen looming above my head. Every creak and every shadow filled my mind with the dread of my childhood. Those nights after being tucked in by my parents. Those same fearful thoughts of lurking terror. But it was nothing? right? More creaks. More movement in the shadows. I turned and pushed my face into the pillow. I felt something brush passed my foot which stuck awkwardly out from under my blanket.

I jolted upright, looking deeply into the darkness. Swirling shadows. The monsters. The boogie men. I felt around sheepishly for my phone. The dull light of the screen could put me at ease. Nothing on the nightstand and when my fingers roamed around the edge of the bed, instinctively I retracted them for fear of the unknown. I was alone but in the shadows I saw them, the monsters. Inky abominable beasts.

It was the only thing I thought could help me. I lunged from the bed directly at the switch. My palm slammed down on it and the room erupted into light. My eyes burned momentarily and I glanced round the room. Empty. Safe. Just paranoia. I shook my head and hit the switch once more. Climbing into bed in the pitch black. No shadows without my nightvision. But now I hear them. I can?t see them now. I don?t know what they want but I know I can?t leave. The rituals have failed. They?re on the other side of this blanket and all I can do now is hope that they?re gone in the morning.

Also, I'm pretty sure that this is something painfully obvious, but what's the deal with the days thing?

I'm counting down the days in till the one year anniversary of the scary thread. Haven't been able to update it daily though so thats why it changes only every couple of days. Going to try and plan something but I have no ideas at the moment.

My friend told me this story, I don't know where he got it from, thou I do know it isn't his.

So, this girl has a dog that sleeps in her room, and every night before she goes to sleep she sticks her hand out from the covers and it licks her hand. One night she gets up to go to the bathroom. She finds her dog dead in the sink, with the words 'Humans can lick hands too' written in blood.

And that, my friends, is what I do at the weekends.

My purpose here is to request some lovecraftian stories, as my excitement surrounding the del toro mountains of madness film, and recently playing eternal darkness has me wanting some. If only I could get some damn lovecraft books without paying waterstones a fortune for the privilege.

I heard the whimpers of the rear-most child turn to screams of pain. I knew then that I was too slow. It was catching up, and because I'd gone into the tight tunnel first the smaller children, who might have had a chance, couldn't get past me. I'd have let them then, if I could, but all I could do was wriggle forwards as fast as I could and hope. I wriggled. I hoped. I reached the end and crawled out into daylight, the screams ringing in my ears.
