Immortality, here I come!
So you are happy about becoming immortal?

I hate that.
I get to eat more bananas.

And invade the French more

And post more.

And other stuff that's not related to the Escapist.

I'll stop talking now.

Well it is definitly an interesting study. It's still choosing decision making over creativity though. Not a total loss of it, but according to the article, people in good moods tend to be more creative over those in bad moods.

It's times like this that make me wish I was a pessamist.

Wow, you sound very happy about becoming immortal, logically meaning that you will die young.

Misleading topic is misleading. Nowhere it says that grumpiness makes you live longer!

It only states: "Whereas positive mood seems to promote creativity, flexibility, co-operation and reliance on mental shortcuts, negative moods trigger more attentive, careful thinking, paying greater attention to the external world."

I think being grumpy causes more health issues than being happy, but I do agree that some level of negativity does improve your logical thinking to some extent, just like positive attitude improves your co-operation skills.

Did you read the article.

For that matter did any of the first nine posters read the article?

I did, it is about attentiveness and critical thinking, not immortality.

And props to the OP if you did this intentionally.

It would get boring after a while. Also, once you get to a certain age it wont feel good at all. You'd be tired and sore all the time and it would only get worse from there. That is, if immortality was possible :p

My humor apparently is only funny to me.

I was making a joke.

He was happy about living long from being grumpy... think about it.

Sweet, this means I'll live for a very long time, since everything seems to piss me off.

On the down side, I'll live for a very long time without any sex because everything pisses me off.

Edit: This article doesn't say that being grumpy is good for your health, it just says that it makes you think clearer. Everyone in the thread (including myself) fails for posting before reading it.
Good thing I nether read nor posted on...
Damn it!
Ok I'll get to reading it now

It's funny, because you're not allowed to be happy about being immortal or you'll die.

Anyway, I don't see why grumpy people are so stubbornly trying to prove that theres something good about being the way they are. It's like they're trying to justify being an asshole.

Clarity of thought aye, that explains some things, like how my happy go lucky "friends" are often quit gullable where as my self and my "hate the world" friends never have such problems.

This is genuinely interesting, I always thought there was a correlation between weather and memory but I was never sure. The other stuff I could have guessed based on my mentality in comparison with those around me.

There will be, however, a ton of Scotch.
Maybe a fountain or twelve of nothing but Scotch...
