It drops deep, as it does in my breath,
I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death,
Beyond the walls of intelligence life is defined,
I think of crime, when I'm in a NY state of mind.

Slightly later on there's also the gem:

I got so many rhymes I don't think I'm too sane,
Life is parallel to hell but I must maintain.

And that is why I love Hip-Hop. Coleridge would've been proud of those internal rhymes.

The whole song has amazing lyrics.

Hmm, probably Bathory's 'One Rode to Asa Bay'. That pretty famous (well, as far as metal fame goes) line "People of Asa Land, it has only... just BEGUUUUUUUUUUUN" really sets in a depressing tone knowing what the people of the place are in for under their new tyrannical Catholic masters. The whole song is a lyrical masterpiece, on one of my favourite albums.

Ah old school hip hop, how I miss thee
Twas that.

In fact practically any lyric from this song would fit in:

'So pick a BC date cause you're history' is a personal favourite.

"I got food in my belly and a license for my telly" - Paolo Nutini

They don't write them like that any more.

Epic as in "good," or "internet" epic? If it's the latter, I've gotta go with "Sentient 6" by Nevermore:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8KR5MyHN3g

Just listen to that shit! Hilariously earnest yet insanely campy; it's a wonder this song isn't more well known around the internet-at-large.

EDIT: Can anybody tell me how to embed the video? Copying the embed text from youtube didn't work...

(Pissing the night away, pissing the night away)
He drinks a Whiskey drink, he drinks a Vodka drink
He drinks a Lager drink, he drinks a Cider drink
He sings the songs that remind him of the good times
He sings the songs that remind him of the best times

Because it reminds of days I get to have some ale .... which is only on those days that end in Y.

"You're a noone nowehere washed up baby who'd look better dead" - I Am The Resurrection by The Stone Roses. That line's always stuck with me. It's just such a fantastically worded insult.

On a less insulting note is the Tom Waits song "Dead and Lovely." Near the start there's a line that goes "Don't let a fool kiss you, never marry for love." Then near the end there's the line "Don't let a fool kiss you, never marry for love."
I think that's just awesome. In fact, all the lyrics of that song are awesoem.

Ha, I love the username, Biz Markie is a legend.

Same is true with any Rakim lyric, him and Eric B used to tear it up, shame it moved toward money and women from bragging about microphone skills

Tool - Sober
I am just a worthless liar.
I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you.
Trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you.
I will chew it up and leave,
I will work to elevate you
just enough to bring you down

Chose anything from Avenue Q. Most of them are hilarious yet have quite a powerful message attached.
"Nothing lasts, life goes on, full of surprises. You'll be faces with problems, of all shapes and sizes. You're going to have to make a few compromises for now... but only for now!"

Near the very end, it goes off on a tangent that just sends freaking chills down my spine, no matter how often I listen to it.

It's just the chorus, but the overlaying of a scared child is just... Evil.

Starts around 4:10

"Mr. Gene! I don't wanna play anymore!!"

Most epic lyric of all time?

"And the man in the back said everyone attacked and it turned into a ballroom blitz!"

That song will be stuck in your head all day now. You're welcome.

I've really liked a lot of the Death Grips stuff, especially Beware has some of the best "darker" lyrics i've heard. "Nature knows not of mercy, to pray is to accept defeat"

System of a Down - 'Vicinity of Obscenity'
You learned defeat from the whores with bad feet didn't you?

OT: One of my favorite lines comes from the Hollywood Undead song "Lights Out." What makes it even sweeter is that the song is a diss to their former lead singer.

At some point in your music listening life you have come across a certain song whose music is amazing, and just when you think it can get no better a wondrous barrage of lyrical power hits you smack bang in the ear hole. It's almost so sweet that it brings a tear to your eye, but the same strength in the lyric keeps you strong.
My question to you is, what song/line from a song has had this effect on you?

The song that immediately springs to mind for me is Carry on my Wayward Son by Kansas. Kinda self explanatory.
Ooh, that's a good one. Really drives me to keep killing demons.

OT: The chorus of this song really had a therapeutic effect on me when my most recent relationship crashed:

Also, Surprise Hotel by Fool's Gold. I can't understand a word he's saying, but it sounds fun.

And most recently, the lyrics to Rains of Castamere. Knowing the song's background, it's badass.
I would also like to nominate the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

It's {youtube=CODE} with square brackets, which for yours is {youtube=M8KR5MyHN3g} or Quote this to check the coding.
