This thread hasn't made me the least bit uncomfortable.... Is there something wrong with me?
No. I think it just means you're a pessimist, and most of the things in this thread validate your worldview. Nothing to be ashamed of.
No, I'm not that much of pessimist actually. Hmm, although I did agree with a lot on here, the ones that didn't agree with me just made me interested with that persons point of view.

Anyways, for an uncomfortable truth.... Look down at your pants, of what you payed for them probably less than 1% went to the kid in the sweat shop who made them.

That's not an uncomfortable truth - that's just called "living in the first world"

Uncomfortable truths?
I hate every single aspect of me.

So does pretty much everyone else. Practically the only girl who ever liked me as more than a friend, is now in a close relationship with a guy I hate. And I think I'm getting feelings for her.

I see her pretty much every day, and I'm dying inside.

How was that for uncomfortable?
I know how you feel, and I can vouch for you when you say its uncomfortable. Its beyond uncomfortable in my situation.

Everything you do no matter how amazing, life affirming, legendarily intelligent, or life changing will eventually become meaningless and be forgotten. You'll die and the people who remembered you will die and the entire human race will die and our planet will die, NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.

How's that for an uncomfortable truth.
Really makes the other uncomfortable truths feel pleasant by comparison.

I could die a baby or live a full life to a hundred, and what does it matter? When I die all that's left of me is my memory to a few people. When they die even that memory dies.

Well it's not so bad. After awhile you get used to the idea and it just becomes another thing. Just because what you do will be forgotten doesn't really mean what you do doesn't matter. As long as it matters to YOU there's some meaning.

Here's an uncomfortable truth:

The greatest allies we have in our fight to keep gaming protected by the First Amendment are Bobby Kotick, John Riccitiello, and the rest of the game CEOs we constantly yell at over DRM, lack of innovation, and everything that's wrong with gaming.

They are our BEST ALLIES.
Ok, if I'm not mistaken, that is so ironic it's not even funny.

OT:Someone you know could be going through rough times and you wouldn't know because they're hiding it.

Despite all my work towards the contrary, I'm actually not that good of a Christian or scientist.

And, no. I'm not a Christian Scientist [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_science]. That's something completely different.

And complete bullshit misnomer. The only thing that makes Christian "Scientists" different is that they refuse to believe in medicine and, uh, science. You're not dying of cancer, God's testing you! Yeah, to death...

You know who you are and are perfectly fine with that. Although you know that you hide your uncertainty about everything.

You will, at some point in your life--likely several times, in fact-- get turned on by something you find disgusting, and abso-frikkin-lutely love it.

When you die, nobody will be able to remember you exactly as you were.

Going by sheer probability, you shouldn't be alive right now. You are a spectre; a fantasy made real by genetics and the whims of others. Your existence is one brought about by nothing by chance; were it not for your stupidly good luck, you could have been born as a golden retriever, or that fat guy next door you hate so much. You are the one-in-a-billion natural 20, and there will never, in the history of the world, be anything like you ever again. You are alone, and you will always be alone unless you seek the companionship of your percieved fellows, who in turn are impossible throws of the dice. WE ARE ALL FREAK COINCIDENCES.

Every morning, God looks right at you...and doesn't even notice you.

You may have the greatest idea this world has ever known... Something so grand, it would trump all other ideas... It will shape the future for millennia... But due to your inability to properly express yourself... that idea will die with you...

No matter what you do in life, no matter how nice and considerate you are...

Someone in the world will be happy if you die.

Wait I don't know any Steves.....screw you bojac6's Steve! :)
You know, I barely think about it, it really doesn't bother me that much and he's actually not that bad of a guy. But somehow, you just made my day. Thanks.
Haha well you're welcome.

Cheering someone up on the internet is a full time hobby =]

Surely you can use that as an excuse? "Sorry I didn't get you any presents, I just didn't want to waste time shopping when I thought the world was going to end"

There are only two majorities of people left on planet earth: Bad people, and dead people, probabally killed by the bad people.

Anyone who I am friends with in real life will at some time betray and/or avoid me.

The government is nigh on constantly lying. In the words of John Cusack in 2012, "When the government says everything's alright, that's when you run!"

You better fight for yourself, because no-one else is going to.

I don't know a single person who has reason not to kill me. Sure, very few have actual reason to do it, but hell, since when did not having a reason stop humanity, we're vicious by nature, and not having a reason not to kill someone's always been enough.

I'm simply born with the sole purpose of terrifying as many people as possible. Wait, I love that truth!

And it keeping with that, I've got something to disturb all you people who argue over faith and science; Deep down inside, all faithful people are afraid that they're wrong, that they invested their belief in a huge lie. But don't celebrate just yet science fans! Because I know your big secret. I know that you're afraid that you're wrong, that in reality, all your logic and explanations are helpless against forces unseen and unknown...

most will never choose to participate in the political system.
I think its good that most don't participate in the political system.

If everyone did, we would be fucked because the majority of the world don't know, and will
never know shit about politics(Myself and you are probably included.)
That depends on what you define as not knowing shit about it and if you lived somewhere where you could vote unless you disliked all the candidates why wouldn't you vote? As is the majority of the people who vote are hardliners by which I mean that they probably aren't willing to work with the other side (case in point almost every Senate vote is divided between Republicans and Democrats) this leads to the interests of parties becoming more important than the interests of the public. Where as if more people voted it's more likely that less of these hardliners would be elected as most people would probably find themselves more towards the middle and would probably elect at least slightly more reasonable politicians.
