so who was hit by this huge storm that ended up as the third biggest snowfall in history?

I got 18" of snow and my college canceled classes for 1 day while everyone else I know has a double snow day *rage grumble*!

Hmm. It was overhyped in my area. "OHHH 10'' of snow!!!! Lets close schools for 2 days!!"

That's what happened here :\

I was. My university here in the Show Me state is still closed today. I'm pretty sure we'll have classes tomorrow, but I'm trying to keep my hopes up for one more day.

Hrm... Not that I mind all the snow, I love it, but I cant help but to ask, wheres all this global warming everyone was talking about?

And in before a misinterpret, that is only ment to be a humorous statement.

I didn't get to much, only got one day off from school because of it. They waited until the last possible minute to announce it to so I was just about to leave. I could have been sleeping during that time damn it.

the annoying part is the fact that the rest of my friends have a double snow day and it causes me LOADS OF RAGE!!! Be warned, if you still have a snowday today, I hate you.

It's not even snowing down here in Texas, but there's a "threat" of snow, so everyone's panicking. We got out of school early today, and there might not be any school tomorrow.

This is insane. The other day it was hot enough to wear shorts outside.

The best part of all the snow we got around here (other than the snow days) is getting to watch all the idiots here try to drive in it. I'm pretty sure most of them came from places that got plowed and salted before sunrise and now they can't handle it XD.

I haven't left my house in 4 days because of Snowpocalypse. We only got about 16 inches, but the wind piled a lot it up into 2-4 foot drifts.

I know how you feel.
My school district is always the only one that would be open while everyone else was closed.
Probably because the super-intendant is from Alaska.

This time he did give a double snow day. Good thing, cause we got the ice storm in Ohio, not the blizzard. It was a hazard just to walk to your mailbox. Seriously, my dad slipped and messed up his back trying to get the mail.

Even then, he waited until 5:00 a.m. to tell us school was closed that day, so I didnt get any sleep.
God everyone gets pissed at him.

Oh btw, I did have school today. Not sure about the others, but I think they did. Expect for 1 specific school district, they freak out over 1 inch of snow.

We got about 8 inches here in upstate New York, followed by a light covering of sleet and then maybe an inch over that. The real danger was the idiots on the road not compensating for the fact that even a little bit of sleet can make your vehicle do some unwanted maneuvers.

If schools here in Finland were closed for such an amount of snow, I would be one happy panda. No school during summer or winter!

Maybe you "yankees" should be prepared for stuff like this, if it continues to happen. Buy winter tires!

Oh, why people aren't screaming "Global warming!" yet?

Im in texas, and am currently in the process of going "OMG GUYZ ITS SNOW". Not much of it granted, the texas heat already killed the mass majority..but its hanging in there. at my house, our dogs are leaving tiny paw prints, at my dads house his chickens refuse to leave their coop. (Texas raised birds, apparently they dont trust snow) and at my friends place up in Kyle, theres children playing in it. Damn..dirty children.

It's more of a "snowpocalypse" up where I live. Up in Massachusetts, we got hit by massive snowstorms at least once a week totaling about 6 feet of snow. I haven't had a full week of school since December.
The recent storm caused a one day school week. Two days off because the roads really sucked (literally sheets of ice) then the other two days because the roof might collapse because of all the snow on it.
It's been so long I'm not even sure I remember what school looks like.

I live in southern Ohio, and I have no snow. Two hours west, there is a bit of ice. Four hours north there is 18 inches of snow.

Same here. Most places were closed between Tuesday and Thursday, a state of emergency declared, and a deterrent fine put in place.

I live in Eastern Ohio and didn't really get any snow, but about 1.5" of freezing rain. Roads were beyond terrible for a few days, but they're mostly cleared up now.
