Odd thread? Maybe.

Ever since the creation of bread man has driven himself to create the ultimate sandwich. People have made different kinds of bread in order to liven their sandwich experience. People have created new forms of food to be put on their sandwich to improve their experience. The ultimate sandwich must have multiple flavours, interesting bread, and it must be buttered perfectly. It must cause the very person eating it to salivate madly over it. It must cause sexual pleasures to the person eating it upon the very first bite.

Some people prefer their sandwiches grilled. Some people prefer them in hamburger buns. Some people prefer them as gigantic twenty foot long monstrosities. Some people like ham, some people like turkey. Some people like cheddar cheese, some people like Swiss cheese.

But what, Escapists, is YOUR ultimate sandwich?

Ever gone to Subway and order a Steak and Spicy cheese sandwhich on Italian, heated, herb bread? With lettuce, onion and South-West Chiportle sauce? And to top it all off drizzle Tobasco sauce all over it, inside and outside the sandwhich?

It's sex in the mouth man.
I'm not sure I'd want sex in the mouth.

On topic though...

I dunno. Aslong as it has a meat>vegetable ratio I'm fine.

Mushrooms, shredded bacon, five different kinds of cheese, slices of chicken, slices of shredded ham, mustard, mayonnaise, some chicken salt and some George Forman grill magic.

uurrrggghh I think I just got a boner from typing that.

orite, the cheeses.
Swiss, Cheddar, Parmesan, coon tasty vintage cheese of death, mozzarella.

It's what I make when I render myself EXTREMELY bored and am hungry. Oh, and when I actually HAVE the five cheeses available.

Mustard, Salami, lettuce, Swiss cheese, Ham, Pepperjack cheese, turkey, Cheddar cheese, Ruffles, Cheetos, Tabasco, Jalapenos, bacon, and pickles.

That, or a meatball sub.

For some reason I look at this forum and it makes me feel hungry and think of the cooking classes I have taken. That said how does this idea sound? ^__^ Carne asada beef or gaucho steak, ajillo mushrooms, red onions, garlic, and cilantro on multi grain bread

The ultimate sandwich has nothing on it. It's so good, it doesn't need anything to make it taste amazing.

A heluva lot of Nutella shoved between two toasty waffles. Not sure if my sandvich has to include bread, but whatever, I'm a rebel.

AWww yeah, I do that sometimes.

I toast the bread and put the jar of nutella in the microwave for a minute. It's like a chocolate orgasm in your mouth.

What strikes me as possibly being the best is an oven-baked sandwich made of a long ciabatta roll cut in half, both halves layered in pesto, one side topped by mozarella (sp?), the other by provolone, and between the two would be grilled chicken sliced somewhat thinly. All this with beef au jus. I think that sounds fairly tasty.
