Wow, that really kindof sucks. But he should have been more prepared for something like that to happen.

Lots of folks separate, but never actually get divorced, because its in their financial best interests to stay married. You get tax breaks and healthcare breaks, for example (at least in the U.S.). My aunt and uncle were separated for most of my life, and only formally got divorced when he decided he wanted to remarry.Viridian said:She waited until now?...
I sense a certain conniving ***** who needs to be ejected into space.
In this case, their divorce was clearly quite amicable, as she allowed him to keep living in the property.
Wow, you really want to get pedantic about this? There are financial benefits to staying married, or perhaps more precisely, to not getting divorced. That's the point I was making, as I'm sure you're quite aware.bdcjacko said:You don't get tax breaks in the us for being married unless only one person works.Susan Arendt said:Not necessarily. It is a pet peeve of mine when I hear or read someone saying marriage has tax breaks. Just saying.Susan Arendt said:Wow, you really want to get pedantic about this? I kinda feel like we need to fire up the internet hate machine, track this ***** down and make sure the world knows this kind of bullshit is not acceptable. Seriously, this lady is a *****.Viridian said:She waited until now?...

Enterprise is best???Mike Richards said:You know, part of me actually wants to live there not for the inherent geek thrills but just cause the place looks awesome.
And, though far from perfect, Voyager is better then a lot of people give it credit for. Enterprise is still the best though, theme song not withstanding.
I'll be the first to admit the series just did not have good episode plots for the entire first two seasons. But season 3's Xindi arc brought the serialization back in a big way and continued it through season 4's smaller arcs, whereas DS9 took 4 seasons just to get to any of the good stuff it kept hinting at.Crono1973 said:Enterprise is best???
I am having a hard time reading that with a straight face, glad I wasn't drinking anything? As bad as Voyager was, it was better than Enterprise. The best Trek is DS9 but due to it's serialized nature, it's greatness wasn't seen until it hit DVD where people could watch the episodes back to back without commercials.
The most successful Trek was The Next Generation and the most hated was....you know the answer to that.
DS9 had it's good episodes prior to season 4, mostly when they were teasing about the Dominion. When DS9 took off in season 4 though, it really took off. Enterprise may have been getting better but it just never hit the high that DS9 did.Mike Richards said:I'll be the first to admit the series just did not have good episode plots for the entire first two seasons. I appreciated it because in it's own odd way it felt much more believable then the other series. The tech was imperfect, the people simultaneously behaved both more like officers on this type of mission would and like normal people would, the ship and especially uniforms looked much more realistic, the early seasons do an alright job indicating that a lot of space is empty, and not everyone on the ship and off gets along in a big happy family of hugs and flowers. It felt closer to being a world then a hodgepodge of impractical ideologies.
Even then, there are a lot of other series that outclass everything the whole franchise has accomplished, so it's hardly like Enterprise is the best that could ever be done. It just comparatively edges the others out in the areas that matter to me.
You also have to take into account that DS9 never hit the lows that Enterprise did either. Early DS9 was boring at the worst, but early Enterprise was truly horrible. The first and second seasons were unbelievably bad. Enterprise did well in the third and fourth season, though it was never as entertaining as the best of TNG or DS9.Crono1973 said:DS9 had it's good episodes prior to season 4, mostly when they were teasing about the Dominion. Ya know, in my opinion.
So he built his opus magnum in what was basically somebody else's place. What did he expect to happen?his soon-to-be-ex-wife is the one who actually owns the apartment and has been paying the mortgage on it since they split almost 20 years ago.
There's not much out there that is as entertaining as the best of TNG or DS9. The Inner Light is one of my all time favorite episodes of anything. DS9 had a first season episode called Duet that is also one of favorite episodes of anything. Voyager had that one special episode too, I believe it was called Living Witness and it was where the Doctor (at some point in the future) had to prove that the now defunct Voyager crew were not warlords.DrOswald said:You also have to take into account that DS9 never hit the lows that Enterprise did either. Indeed a great episode. I still remember that eps. To bad the ending more or less retconnned that eps. I am probably one of the few people that enjoyed voyager a lot (it tried something different. The real problem i have is the absolute horrid ending they gave it (so many plotholes you could fly voyager through it).Crono1973 said:Voyager had that one special episode too, I believe it was called Living Witness and it was where the Doctor (at some point in the future) had to prove that the now defunct Voyager crew were not warlords.
Damn, I may have to sit down and watch that one tonight.
