DS9 had it's good episodes prior to season 4, mostly when they were teasing about the Dominion. When DS9 took off in season 4 though, it really took off. Enterprise may have been getting better but it just never hit the high that DS9 did.

They always remained handicapped by having chosen such an overblown actor to play Sisko though. He never got rid of the ridiculous exageration when playing emotional angry moments.

I never got far in the Enterprise series. I just couldn't stand how overwhelmingly American everything was, the entire cast and the captain most of all. It was like they took everything that made the various Star Trek series great out, and replaced it with standard hollywood crap. And the cheaper budgets. I mean, Naussicans with leather jackets? One of the greatest parts of Star Trek was being able to watch it without seeing stuff that came straight out of a store, no badguys with motorcycle helmets to dehumanize them and so on. If they used any in the earlier series, I didn't notice it.

I actually like Avery Brooks acting style, though it was a rough through the first few seasons. I think he was still adjusting from theater acting to film\television acting. You see similar overblown performances from Patrick Stewart in his early film\television career. In my opinion, Avery Brooks did excellent about 4th season forward. In particular the episode "In the Pale Moonlight" and "For the Uniform" were especially well done.

As for Enterprise, why do you say it was too American? That doesn't make much sense to me. It was crap, especially for the first 2 seasons, and the crew was white trash, but I can't really say it was any more or less American than the rest of trek.

I liked Avery Brooks as Sisko. I loved his over the top speeches, Patrick Stewart had his share of over the top speeches too.

Yeah, the Captain and his dog was a little silly. Bringing the Ferengi in during the first season breaking canon established in TNG. In my mind, one of the main reasons Enterprise failed is because it looked back instead of forward. I know the JJ Abrams movies went back but that movie sold on action, not story.

I had trouble getting over the fact that he constantly sounded like Homer Simpson trying to disguise his voice.

Also it's been a while since I've had to really stretch my Trekie knowledge, but what class of starship is that in the diagram? It says USS Voyager, but that doesn't look like an Intrepid class. Too small, and the nacelles don't look right.

EDIT: On a half remembered hunch I googled Nova Class, and I was right. The name "USS Voyager" and the registration NCC-74656 (which is Voyager's registration)on the display threw me off. That's a pretty big nerd error for such a big project. You lose points man who turned his apartment into a Star Trek set.

Even the Jedi from Star Wars felt this one. I'm not a fan of Star Trek, but I can certainly appreciate the work this guy put into it. Real shame he's gona lose it, but I hope a Trek fan will buy it up.

I don't get the impression his former wife even wants to consider trying to sell it as is.

That's not the problem with marriage, the problem with marriage is the threat of divorce where the woman usually gets preferential treatment. It isn't marriage that is broken, it's the family courts.

I won't marry again under as long as the family courts are the way they are and I don't expect that they will change in my lifetime.

The stuff in the building is his, he can auction/sell it off as he pleases. She owns the bricks and mortar so has every right to sell it. Thats no reason why she should die. Building this in a property you dont own is inherently risky... or stupid depending on your view.

I'd wager that the view screen probably doubles as a television. I mean the guy has to watch trek right?
