Nothing, he is total stranger I don't know him and don't care about him, heck he might be a murderer or even something worst so... Yeah nothing.

Being 100% honest here I would probably just ignore the knocking on the door or the doorbell until they went away. Unless I know a person I don't open my door or answer my phone.

If it got to the point where I actually did aggro them outside somehow, I'd probably have them removed from my property.

Everybody has to die some time, some sooner then others and I wouldn't expect or ask for any handouts if I was in the same situation. I'd just make the best out of what time I have left and possibly suggest they do the same.
This.

If it was someone I know through someone else or someone who knows me through someone else or a friend/family member of mine about 25% of it. Maybe 50%. I'm more likely to give money to a charity than to someone I don't know.

Probably none, but only because I dont know the person. If im not allowed to know who they are, and what they do, Im not going to give any money. I wouldnt keep all that money, I would use it to pay off my debts, buy some decent goods, and give the rest to charity probably, but to give any money to a perfect stranger, never...

None, maybe because I get a sob story like this every time I go into the city, I tend not to care anymore.

im with a few others here.
my first question is how did this whack job get my address.
i would tell him politely to leave and never return under threat of arrest if his returns.
ergo: no money for a complete weirdo stranger

100% and hope that he's a decent enough man to give back the money he didn't need.
Maybe save a few thousand for myself, I dunno.

I, like a lot of people, feel like the money would be better spent on medical research and save several lives than one individual. Why should I save this one stranger over all the others with said terminal disease when I can donate to help them make the cure cheeper than a sum of money most won't make in a life time. The reassert might not be done in time to save the individual but it would save more in the long run.

but on the stipulation that they aren't me. It says its someone I haven't met and to tell you the truth I've never 'met' myself. I always just kinda knew who I was.

I wouldn't give any large amounts of money to a person I don't know, with a supposed life threatening disease, with an unknown cost. There are too many unknown variables here to sound real. If anything, I would assume I am being scammed.

I would first contact the person and his doctor to find out if the patient would actually die and I would try to get an estimate of the cost of treatment. Only then would I consider giving any large amounts of money.

If the patient is reputable or someone who isn't a drug addicted hobo, I would consider giving up to 90% of my lottery earnings to save his life. The last 10% should be more than enough to help me get through. I don't really care about living a rich and affluent life so that last 10% will cover all my needs and then some, I am a rather careful spender.

I'll do this, 10% of my money will become give-away money for saving lives and shit, but I won't pay sqat without proof of them actually dying.

X Contacts me, requesting the money required to save his/her life. Yet X will not share the details of how much he needs, what is wrong, or any detail beyond that X has a life threatening ailment. So, what do I do? Nothing. I'm not an uncaring man, but I cannot be empathatic for another when they refuse to unveil the most vital details to me.

There are thousands of people who are sick and dying, and I wouldn't just give money to a stranger at my door. None.

I get distrustful when asked to give money, especially if they suddenly started lobbying in front of my house.

First thing I'd improve would be house security.

OT:20$ I don't feel guilty because if I win big I've already decided to donate a portion of it to a charity of my choosing.

The dynamic of this scenario would change completely if I knew the person.

None. I don't know this guy, I have no idea if he deserves my help. Ok, I might give a little, I did just win a couple of million dollars(I think it's still 2.2 dollars to a pound or more) so I might give like, 10 thousand. But certainly nothing substantial.

I never really saw the value of random charity. Random self-sacrifice(and that's what this is, no matter how minimal the sacrifice) is slavery to any fool who thinks they deserve what you earned with your hard work or good luck. If I knew this person, or at least had heard on the news of what had happened and I came to the logical conclusion that they deserved help, then I would give more. 50-100 thousand or more. But I'm not just going to give money to some smuck who needs it to save someone elses life.

Maybe he wants to hire a good enough lawyer to get some serial rapist/killer off deathrow, or something almost as bad. Maybe he just wants to save some moron who's been on welfare their whole life, who will continue to not work, and will be nothing but a leach on society for their entire existance.

The value of life is what you do with it. Your life is yours alone. Rise up and live it.

This happens all the time, but not many people judge those dying in anonymous hospitals a long way away to be more important than their next..whatever

None for that guy. No one is entitled to my money. However, if I was feeling charitable, I would instead donate money to clean food and water efforts in Africa. Let's say the guy needed $50,000 for his operation. That $50,000 could save the lives of hundreds of starving African kids instead of one dude.
