Yeah, I have no idea what the difference between a Radeon and a GeForce is. I'm a PS3 female gamer, so all your PC gaming stuff is unknown to me.Wicky_42 said:If a girl knows what she's talking about, knows technical terms, doesn't get 'gig' and 'meg' confused, has a few favourite games, knows the difference between Radeon and GeForce etc etc and is genuinely interested, she can comfortably call herself a geek. At least, that's the qualifications I'd expect of anyone who considers themselves as such.
Edit, that's just for techie geeks, I guess - but the 'basics' principle would apply to any geek-worthy subject, I'd expect.
I can, however, talk extensively about the original Doctor Who - preferably Peter David or Tom Baker (my two favs).
And yes, I saw your edit, but I found your comment about video cards to be rather antagonistic. I took a couple of computer science classes, and I can write HTML code pretty well (in notepad even) and I know that Radeon and GeForce are both graphics cards, and I know that the important number in a graphics card is actually the second one (a 4100 is weaker than a 3900 for instance) but that's about the extent of it.
