The early game wasn't hard, it was just harder than the rest of the game. I mean what was to get? Press X to swing sword, press A to dodge, hold trigger to block? Pretty standard stuff really. And the dragon's a quick time event, do we need tutorials for these?

How's it doing on the whole "controls are shit on the PC version unless you're using a controller" thing? That's the reason I played solo frisbee with the game when it launched.

I find it amusing and rather depressing that they were pretty much forced to make a "proper" tutorial for the game due to all the softies bitching. Heavens forbid one read the manual while the damn game was installing, or look off to the right to see the tool tips on screen. Wasn't even that difficult unless you were just being a reckless idiot flailing your sword around.

Ah well, not like it'll affect me in any way, I just hope they don't nerf the beginning again. I liked the fact that the game threw you into the deep end and said "man the fuck up", non of this condescending hand holding we he these days.

Been looking forward to this Dark mode and Arena update since they announced it a while back. It'll make for a challenging 3rd and 4th playthrough, and at least I can have the difficulty of Insanity mode without the whole 'lose your save when you die' thing. I was always more than willing to play insanity, but couldn't because of some stupid minor crap like a cheap death caused by my controls locking up. Hope that's one of the newer fixes, despite how rare it was.

The 29th can't come soon enough.

The game worked perfectly fine without a controller, had the same standard controls you see in any other 3rd person view game really.

Never beat the Witcher 2.
Never going to beat the Witcher 2.

Dont even know why I posted really...except to say why was the tutorial NOT in the original game?
A TUTORIAL? Really guys I mean even flash games have them.

What too good to put one in?
There is a written tutorial in the journal ingame since day one for those who don't know that getting hit is bad.
That would have been handy...if I had not just got the CD from a friend.
Or had not died 12 times on the normal setting.

The Dark Mode contest sounds nice!
I hope the old dragon "tutorial" is still there, it sounds like a lot of fun and I like a challenge.
I still don't have a PC good enough for this game, but this is getting me a little more inclined to get it for the consoles. Still, it would just feel wrong to play the Witcher 2 on consoles...

So? Persevere or turn it to easy while you get the hang of the game.

OT: This is great news, and another example of why CD Projekt are the best developers around. Even if you're not a massive Witcher fan, everyone must admit they treat their customers better than anyone else.

How they make money I don't know, I feel like I've ripped them off only paying £25 for The Witcher 2

Finally took the plunge and piciked this up on Steam. Sadly, for various reasons my DL speed is hovering in the 10kb/s range, so by the time it finishes I may have to redownload the entire thing all over again.
