Windwaker was kind of annoying, but not overly so. Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy was terrible when you were young Lucas. Final Fantasy VII was awful, when you were in the Shinra tower...ugh.

True Crime: Streets of LA's stealth sections always felt really weird to me, as all other parts of that game were ludicrously explosive and action-orientated.
If I remember correctly, a most awesome rap song played during most of those stealth levels :p

On topic ; I really dislike forced stealth, it usually hits you like a ton of bricks and messes up the pace of the game.
Phantom Hourglass is one of the most recent annoyances I have encountered.
I remember that I used to hate the hand that picked you up and threw you back to the start of the temple in the older Zelda games. I hated that.. but these phantoms are even more annoying, considering you don't have unlimited time either.

Operation:Winback for the 64. If you were detected the thickie guards would 'Accidentally' shoot the explosive barrels that covered the entire room and kill eveyone inside including me.

In before Windwaker.

I'd go with Phantom Hourglass, which is like Windwaker only you have to do it repeatedly and at least Windwaker's was kinda interesting.
That one right at the beginning of Wind Waker was such a pain in the ass... I bet a lot of new players quit the game before even getting into the proper meat of it.

Then again, it was like sweet syrupy brain candy compared to the sailing sections...

I still have to go back and finish that game, I abandoned it when they told me I had to find 8 triforce pieces.

In the first modern spiderman game, if you fucked up the stealth, you wouldnt have to restart, but you would be swarmed and killed in 3 seconds. And even if you made it out alive, in this one stealth section at the end, the enemeys cant be killed.

Phantom hourglass, Fable and the bit in mgs3 where you have to escape a prison with no clothes, items or camo. I know you could say that all of MGS is sneaking but in mgs3 and 4 you can win just be shooting everybody in the head when you have weapons.
that bit in MGS3 was harder than the rest of the game... i like it, you had no weapons so it meant you had to play the game properly. i liked it anyway. wouldn't really call it forced stealth though, it's a stealth game.

but yeah i think most forced stealth sucks. if it's not a stealth game, there no place for it.

I'd say the section in Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. It was a ***** trying to make it from one part of the ship to another, without being seen or they would trip the alarm and you would lose. When I finally disabled the alarm, I have never been so happy to be using a lightsaber.

Lost Oddessy- Where you got locked up aboard the White Boa and you have to get back to your equipment by avoiding annoying robot patrols.

The only good stealth sections are when you have the option of just using some sort of skill to make you harder to see but slower and make it optional developers!!!

Pretty much all of them.

I can't actually remember a good forced stealth section.
COD 4 had a pretty good one. I really can't remember any others at the moment though.

The infiltrate section in Final Fantasy Crisis Core for the PSP, it was way to hard, I still love the game though
Agreed. I just ended up being spotted 5 times, forcing me into a stupid, ridiculously easy fight. Then the base is cleared and you can just run around freely. STUPID.

Damn, forgot the sniping mission.

Ok, apart from that and the one in CoD: WaW, they all suck.

crisis cores. ITS AN RP-FUCKING-G GAME! why does it need a stealth section. A stealth section that lets you continue after failing so many times. With no penalty.

So there was no point, just wasted time.
