The Worst Video Game Character Ever

And now it's time for one of those "Ventilation" threads!
I'm sure we've all encountered...that character. They're the character who makes the very game they're in worse simply due to their inclusion. Maybe they're annoying, maybe they're stupid, or maybe you just flat out hate them. Feel free to name these characters and give as long a list you like to describe how much you hate them, or simply express your desire to bash them over the head with a sledgehammer. Remember, there are no wrong answers!

(Sarah Flores from Alone in the Dark)
She has to quite possibly be one of the worst support characters ever. Every time she shows up, the game instantly gets at least x40 worse. Not only because she's so annoying, but because all of the sections that involve her, saving her, or transporting her are incredibly frustrating. The worst part is that she WON'T DIE. Other annoying support characters usually can be killed, by monsters or by you, even if it results in a Game Over, you still get a small amount of satisfaction from it. But Sarah... you can wail on her with a fire axe forever and nothing will happen. When monsters show up, they only go after you, and she sits in a corner and whines about them. Even when she stops breathing and you have to perform CPR on her, no matter how much you put it off she won't die.
And they say that the ending where you shoot her is the BAD ending!
I know the game doesn't have the best reputation, and I can see why; but I honestly think that if she wasn't in it, people would've liked it a lot better. If you were actually, you know, ALONE in a game called "Alone in the Dark".

So he spends half of the game telling me to get to him, but he keeps on moving half way across the fucking city every time I get close to him, then when I finally get to him, he tells me to basically fuck of because i'm not who he expected... Fuck Gould, and Fuck Crysis 2.

Will not spoil anything but everytime she is in your party she will not shut up about Cain. She is just so damn annoying to listen to, even when you read her diary she is just so annoying. She rarely helps out in your party at all.

While he's probably not the worst character in all of gaming, he certainly ranks super high on my shit list.

Yosuke Hanamura from Persona 4. There is just so little about his character I find tolerable. He's whiny, he's hypocritical, he's rude, he's selfish, he's mildly homophobic.

He's just an asshole.

Obvious choice is Navi in OoT, but Im going to say any character that isnt my toon in Super Mario Brothers Wii. Why the hell is there player clipping? Tidus from ffx was a pretty big whiny #%&@* as well

I hate my generic avatar from western rpgs because he has no personality other than mannequin.

As much as I hate annoying characters in any video game, they are still better than my wooden doll from Western RPGs. In order for me to feel annoyed by them there needs to be something there to begin with. Those designers did not give up and say, "you do it" with characters.

It would all be fine and dandy if my only reasons to complain about him were contained in MGS2. But the fact is that a decade has passed and Kojima is still trying to shove that character down our throats.

No, Mr. Kojima. Making him a badass doesn't work like that.

He annoyed the hell out of me and was such a whiny bastard after his whole ordeal with Snow. The only thing he was good for was being a medic, and that was it.
