Honestly, it quite owns my life. It isn't all about the games though (awesome as they are). The fan community spends a lot of time remixing the music from the games, creating fan comics, fan games, fan art (the official art is lacking, to say the least. It's getting better though), and spawning memes about the characters from those songs/games/comics.
