An attention whore. Premise starts out controversial, but understandable (maybe). As article continues, guy sounds increasingly like a moron.

By the end, it's undeniable.

Wow this guy is completely right, I mean I play video games all the time and I can already feel myself slowly turning into a paedophile/rapist/serial killer/arsonist/addict/recluse/genocidal maniac. I am so glad such clever and outstanding people keep sharing their opinion as if it is fact for my benefit; I love being told how its all going to pan out for me in the future.

He's right. I snort ground up copies of Halo, and I become murderous every time people try to take my games away. Heck, I've burned down 3 orphanages out of gaming withdrawl, and I eat babies because Master Chief tells me to./sarcasm

On a serious note, it saddens me that he can't even say a new way about how games are ruining the children who apparently can't distinguish reality from a bunch of pixels, instead just copying what the Pope said.
Also, on the jab by him when he said trying to take a controller from a kids hand would make them act like drunk with his booze taken away is inaccurate. I believe if you just sudden;y try to take something out of some persons hand, they don't react positively, like everyone else has pointed out.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't think I get an addicting high from standing on the roof of a shop.

Good news everyone.
You can get the same high from drugs, by using video games, and there won't be as much damage!

Game employees will have to start standing on the corner of streets in very long trenchcoats. "Hey...lookin' for the new Zelda?"

Maybe this demonstrates how even apparently respectable professionals can be nothing more than trolls.

Honestly, we need to stop paying attention to these retards. The less we talk about them and give them the time of day, the more likely they'll just fade into obscurity.

I've never had a problem to just get up and stop gaming if there is something that needs to be done. Not when I lived with my parents and not now that I'm independent. Ok, maybe when I was 15, but to be fair getting a 15 year old to do anything is pretty tough.
I have a problem with just stopping the game, usually because the person asking me to do something doesn't appreciate that I've invested the past 25 mins into a multiplayer game, there's five minutes to go, and if I just turn the console off all the progress I've made in the past 25 mins are lost.

That doesn't mean I'm an addict, it means I want to finish what I'm doing.

If that was true then all warner Bros. needed to do to keep Charlie Sheen happy was given him an Xbox 360 and Halo Reach.

To make his point, he suggested that parents listening to the program "go upstairs to your kid's bedroom and try and take the game station controller out of their hands." They will react "in the same way as an alcoholic would if you tried to take their booze.
If you go up to someone and steal a book they are reading or a TV remote when they are going to watch a program they want to watch, they will likely act in a similar fashion. Therefore it's an addiction? I'm sorry, but he may be confusing hobby and addiction.

When psychology is a respectable field I'll start to care about what this idiot thinks.
weeeeell, i'd retract that statement if i were you. psychology is pretty popular, i'm taking a class on it. it's very interesting and answers a lot of medical mysteries. instead, think about what he says about staying up effecting chemical imbalance and compare that to who many teenagers in this country stay up late......interesting, no? it's not just us gamers who stay up late, it's everyone. it's what teenagers do, we stay up late. he's using psychology like a blind trained rifleman shooting his gun off. he knows what he's talking about, but he isn't applying what he knows properly.
It being popular does not make it a valid field of medicine. We know so little about how the human mind works that psychology is still 90% bullshit and guesswork.
phineas gage. dude was working on a mine, gasket blew and a steel shaft drove through his brain and he lived. why? cuz it went in just the right spot through his skull to let him live. how do we know? psychology bitches

I'm just wondering how you grind the games up into powder.

BTW, which games is Charlie Sheen playing?
Charlie Sheen.
It's the most addictive game ever, and it will cause your face to melt off and you to die. But none of that matters, because he's winning at it.

OT: Another publicity stunt for an unheard of therapist trying to get his name on the internet.

Seems like the only way to gain fame nowadays is to troll in real life.
