I've come to a conclusion. I've found a real Matrix. It is a place were people go to become people they're not. Were small people get tourmented by more powerful people. A place were people go and are not seen for long periods of time. And that Matrix is World of Warcraft. SERIOUSLY. Over 10 million people! I was one of the 9 people who didn't have an account. I tried a free trial that I got at my video store. That game is WAY to addictive.

What do you think.

While your train of thought is interesting indeed, I do not envy it.

A more logical conclusion is the Internet itself. It's got even more users than WoW (which I think now has over 11 mil). Not feeling this thread, brother.

Incidentally that figure (10 mil, 11 mil) is register accounts (not even subscription being paid), that include trials etc. and as I know about a dozen people who have had more than one account I have to say that number is higher than reality. I think the total players is between 7 or 8 million, or so I'm told.

They're all just new lipstick on the same pig.

It's a good thing that we're addicted to the bacon though.

Anyways. The numbers aren't quite right. Yes the game is addictive, but so is coffee.

Well apart from the EPIC, NEVER ENDING war between cake and pie we were discussing what similarities exist between The Matrix (the actual thing) and WoW.

The game is addictive until you realize it's one huge grind. You want that shiny sword? Grind for it. Armor? Grind. Sure, with WoTLK it'll introduce some new content, but that content will be grinded(ground?) for. And once you realize the grind, it simply becomes uninteresting (for me, at least.)

EDIT: And someone should just put cake filling in a pie / vice versa and be done with the whole thing.

Well when you put it that way, then Cake.

As for WoW. Well if we're talking about the film as opposed the matrix of leadership, then I suppose it is an alternate world in which people 'live' but then there are many types of matrix, and I can't think of any that apply here.

I think generalizing about people who play WoW is retarded. Not everyone is like those in the fake videos people put on youtube. I now officially don't like you OP, because of this topic.
