that could line up as many frothing at the mouth morons as this New Moon premier.

Seriously; I live in LA, and the red carpet premier is about 3 blocks from my apartment. I thought the camping nut jobs was some protest against the inhumanity of homelessness with a bunch of college girls living on the street on a friday.

Nope.

Twilight fucktards.

It goes on for blocks, and blocks, and blocks, and... could you believe it? More blocks. Holding signs like "Yes i'm camping out for new moon" and "OMG GAISE I WANT TO FUCK A GAY VAMPIRE."

It finally terminates at a church off Hilgaard and Tiverton avenues. Seems fitting, but I sort of wish the line would turn around and go to confession for being a bunch of fucking idiots.

OK, first things first.

Now, to the matter at hand.
Deal with it. Every big movie premier has people like this.
Twilight is the same due to the huge teenage girl fanbase which hides the sane fan base who doesn't follow the movie like a religion.
People like me, for example. Liked the first movie, gonna watch the second when I can, won't read the books, won't scream 'I love Cullen!!!' as I do not, being a man and won't let fangirls drag down all the fans who aren't as obsessive about Twilight.

The only thing more irritating than hardcore Twilight fans is hardcore Twilight haters. I don't understand, do you people feel threatened by this shit? I'm not going to claim that the books are harmless, because I think they reveal a pretty horriffic part of our culture, but seriously, I'm perfectly happy ignoring it, and I don't get to, because I constantly have fourteen-year-old boys coming along screaming about how horrible these books are and how stupid the people reading them are in order to hide how hurt they are that girls their age are so wrapped up in these characters that are completely unlike them.

This.

I read the books. I enjoyed them. They actually were pretty damn good in my opinion.

You don't like it? Get over yourself. I'm sure people say the same thing about the gaming community when we camp stores for Halo or Wii's.

No offence, but you call them fucking idiots, yet you are (seemingly) foaming at the mouth because of something that a bunch of people you don't know are doing that doesn't affect you in any real way.

This is my view on the matter. I have never seen anyone online or in real life go on about how amazing they think Twilight is over and over and over.

Yet I can't seem to avoid people only who won't STFU about how much they hate it.

Nobody is forcing you to think about it, let alone watch it. If you hate it so damn much why would you waste your time talking about it so damn often? I dislike lot's of things, you don't see me feeling the need to express them in every single topic and creating new threads just to let everyone know I dislike it just as much as everyone else.

Very nice point (although I would never camp outside for a game personally), I use this point when people go on about hating Emo's too, as the people on here feel it's ok to criticise everyone elses culture/entertainment but go bat shit crazy whenever gaming is insulted.

That's bad but it's their personalities that's the issue, not the books. If they didn't do it because of Twighlight they would for something else instead.

Yes we know about the premier but is the hate really necessary?. I think all of the planets six billion or so people have gotten tired of both sides debating over the merits and atrocities committed by the movie/books. Whatever, if you hate it ignore it. No one is showing it down your throat. Granted if you live right next to the premier thingy then yes, it might be a bit hard but it'll pass eventually. Be strong!.

I'm glad it has almost no bearing on my life in any way. I say almost because now whenever I mention the word vampire (this happens suprisingly frequently) am I asked if I am a Twilight fan. I respond no, the conversation moves on.

I lol at people who can get worked up over stuff like that... Especially if you're a gamer. You should be pretty used to people not understanding why you like your thing so much.

Just look at the bright side, if you buy a pair of fake fangs and a bottle of red whine you might end up getting laid in a tent on the pavement

It's not a matter of being threatened. Some guys hate it in a typical attempt to stave off "the gay," and some like me have a legitimate reason. Actually it's not even a half bad book, cept Bella's a shallow ****.

Nah, I've heard of shit like this showing up in the news. When the female gender obsesses over something, they obsess hard.
And it doesn't help the sort of dramatic pre-teens/teens it appeals to are crazy either.

That may be true, but im pretty sure he is full of it tho. "kicking him in the face and stomach"?

I'd like to see a twilight obsessed teenage girl do that.

LOL 100% CORRECT. I was going to make that joke, but you beat me to it.

Seriously, who am I to criticize people who like things I don't? Just suck it up and move on.

I don't like the way Twilight has unceremoniously lopped the bollocks off the once proud Vampire... but then I realise I didn't like Vampires that much anyway.

If people like Twilight, so what? It's one more way I can convince myself that I'm better than they are. And hey, if teenage girls get wet over a walking corpse with sparkly skin then Hell, I might just go get drunk and break out the glitter.

Could I get that in a big flashing neon sign, possibly with air raid sirens blaring out of it?
