Is it me, or does that Electrode remind anyone else of a Metal Slug boss? I'm not sure why, but it does!
And the Arbok thingy is almost certainly some kind of Warhammer 40K Daemon. If I remember rightly, having tons of minituare, roiling faces is a bit of a Chaos thing.

Umm anyway yeah those are some pretty damn epic pokemon, I especially liked the Voltorb although the Golbat and Zubat's made me think of FF13 Ochu and Neochu, Still though amazing!

I agree on a poster above who says they're too busy to really be scary or disturbing. I find a lot of the 'monz in the 'original Japanese painting' link a lot more disturbing. Like Victreebell or Metapod.

The legendary birds in that same link however, are absolutely stunning.
