I'm not that clever. I'm really just interested in having people analyze their experience today. Is it the same? Does it feel different?

I don't really care about them that much beyond that fact that most, not all, of them had funny and intersting comments. Some of the time anyways. Plus there is some sort of psychological security blanket that they provide.

Unfortunately, many people just want to talk about who was banned and why rather than talk about their own experiences today. I think that fact says something right there.

I found out that they were planning a massive terrorist strike by bombing London with B-52 bombers loaded with jam.

I know Hubilub got banned, and I'm fairly sure others did too, and it's kinda odd. I'll miss them, and perhaps I might disagree with why some of them were banned (I haven't seen most of them so I can't say), but there's nothing I can do. I guess, for once, I'm glad I'm dull enough not to attract attention and not have too high a post count.

The bans aren't a joke. I PM'd...an anonymous source...and found out the truth.

They won't undo the bans until they are sent cookies! REALLY good cookies. Like, cookies containing vast amounts of money inside them.

So the cookies must be really good? I have some stale Soft Batch cookies. They aren't really soft anymore, but they are cookies.

Do you miss them at all today though?

Nope. And its more about the money than the taste of the cookies.

SNow I know that the bans are a joke. But its kind of weird to come on here and not see many of the familiar faces. Think what you want about all of them, although they are all really nice people in my opinion. As humans we all enjoy familiarity on some level and I know, just like the sunrise, I can wake up and see one of them on here whenever I am. Its kind of soothing in some weird way. I also think it creates a sense of community that seems lacking without them.

I think today is a good lesson to those that believe the userbase here isn't that great. Without the great users we take for granted, the boards are just not as interesting as they usually are.

I was wondering what you all thought about the forums today. By this I mean what has your experience been like on the forums today while we have been missing some prominent members. How has your experience been different today as a result of this, if at all?

Meh, not too different really. I go in to interesting threads, I post, I walk out unless it's really interesting. The April Fools threads have been a tad annoying though; if people insist on doing them couldn't they at least put some effort in 'em?

Seconded. A few of the threads have spawned some interesting sub-topics but overall they are just annoying, not very good traps and just not funny.

The forums have been interesting today. The mods today of all days have prooven themselves all big bastards who've let the power go to their heads, seriously you guys gotta stop banning people you bigheaded asshats! Especially those people who say First, they're just showing their love in the dumbest way they can!

Seriously mods, you deserve a beer (each) for the ban prank, especially the reasons (that I saw) were quite funny, and the sub-reasons. Thanks for keeping the escapist (mostly) troll free! Without you the forums would be like GameFAQs, filled with trolls and fanboys. TUNNEL SNAKES RULE!
