It's a topic that i wanted to create for a while and i thought: Hey, why not try it, and see how it goes ! So, the what you do is simple:

You write what you learned from a (or many) video game(s) .

Im starting:

Things i've learned from playing Age Of Empire 2: Age of Kings
-If you hit your sword on a building wether it's a wooden hut or a rock castle long enough it will crumble and your sword will be perfectly fine.

-If you want to build a building just hit your hammer long enough on the spot where you want to build it and it will appear with a little song playing in the background *Boom pa pum pum* (house song).

I've learned that being an adventurer carries a risk of arrow to the knee.

I've learned that bullets can travel around corners and through cover.

I've learned that headshots are not always instant kills.

I've learned that nukes of any kind are dangerous and should only be kept in government hands, because they would never misuse them.

There's more, but it's a thread post, not a novel. XD

Things I learned from:

Final Fantasy XIII: Not all girls with pink hair are sweet and nice.

Halo 3: The Flood is the scariest monster ever, of all time, in any video game I've played.

Alan Wake: Don't write horror stories because you'll get traped in one.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories(GBA): I can't make a good deck to save my life.

Dues Ex HR: Soldiers only carry one bullet for their guns.

Halo Reach: Necorphila will be widely accepted in the future.

TF2: a Shotgun to the face will be mildly annoying at worst.

Skyrim: Medieval weapons were never sharpened, as you have to hit things twenty times before they died.

Persona4: children can solve murder mysteries better than a police force

Every FPS: humans are resistant to bullets ( is it just me or is it only golden eye 007 that got this right)

Catherine: if you cheat on your girlfriend you will die in you nightmares fredy cruger style.

Bayonetta: angels are evil , demons are good

Metal gear solid : cardboard boxes make you invisible.

Skyrim: Bucket headwear is in style and is this winter's must have fashion accessory

Mass Effect: because in the future military duty will consist of going around commanding space ships and knocking up alien chicks just like Kirk (can't wait!)

World of Warcraft: The title can be taken literally

Half Life: Because being mute leads to being a mysterious and suave physicist who gets the attention of all the ladies

Halo (2): In the future awesome and foreshadowing one liners will cause all that hear it to go unconscious and only see black

where's the necrophilia? seriously.

OT: Skyrim: you can get off scot-free if you kill all the witnesses, or don't get seen. if you are caught, you'll just get thugs sent after you, who you can kill legally.
Fable 2&3/Oblivion: superpowers are genetically discriminatory.
Fallout 3: drink radioactive water BUT NOT TOO MUCH or you might get the runs.

I have two words for you. Tea bagging.

I learned that the only way to check if a hole causes instant death is to throw yourself down it and respawn.

I learned that nobody will mind if you walk into their house and search their drawers for money and medicine.

Although, from another RPG, I did somewhat master the art of lockpicking rudimentary locks, a skill that came to the rescue when I accidentally locked myself out of the house.

The Legend of Zelda: You can keep a bottle of milk in your bag for months on end without it ever spoiling.

Metal Gear Solid: The average man can only see about 3 feet in front of them and has no peripheral vision whatsoever.

Infamous: telling a guy to put up kinda sinister-ish posters of you is about as evil as murdering 40 people.

Death is only a minor inconvenience.

The Killzone Series. I learned that first person cover can be done, and be done well.

Skyrim: a rabbit fleeing a wolf has enough kinetic energy to launch a vegetable cart into the air.

Mass Effect 2: If you are completely behind cover but near a corner, you can shoot through walls.
Go to 00:45 if you don't know what I'm talking about.

if hit by bullets, knifes, RPG's tank shells, mini guns, carpet bombs, or arrow to the knee

All i need to do is hide out of site for about 30 secs and all will be fine, except for the arrow to the knee, that shit hurts and will put you out the adventuring business

Dragon Age: Origins taught me to save every ten steps, because you never know when a dragon will drop down from the sky and eat your face off.

Bioshock taught me that it is perfectly fine to eat random food off the floor and inject yourself with mystery substances just because someone you've never met told you it was OK.

Super Mario Bros. taught me that even if you can destroy solid brick by jumping up and hitting it with your head/fist, you cannot defeat winged turtles in the same manner.

And pretty much every game I've played has taught me that as long as you're the protagonist, you can do whatever you want.

Halo Reach taught you that? I taught my high school tea bagging back when everybody was doing Counter Strike. We had a computer class and after tests and during lunch we would play Counter Strike. My friends and classmates thought I was mental until they finally asked what I was doing. I replied, "Tea bagging your skilless corpses".
