The story of Adam and Eve, if you think about it really hard we'd all be inbred, making the taboo of incest irrelevant
I had this same fear/theory but then the former pastor at my church assuaged me of it. He said that Adam and Eve were the first to be created and that others were created they just aren't mentioned.

OT: take the battles in Pokemon the games(and maybe the anime) and simply substitute the word fainted for died and imagine how much more fucked up it all is now. They're forced fight to the death and then their masters take them to the centers to be healed[footnote]or brought back to life[/footnote] and concerning the game as far the ones you catch go as long as you keep going to the poke-centers they're doomed to die and be revived again and again so long as they're on your team of 6. And then theirs Pokemon evolving into their next forms, that can't be as simple and as painless as it seems to be
Always found it weird that folks can say that >_>. "Oh you know this also happened, just nobody mentions it anywhere in any text." Kinda feels like cheating.

@OP:

The Every Breath You Take Song

Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you

Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
I'll be watching you

O can't you see
You belong to me
How my poor heart aches with every step you take

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you

Since you've gone I been lost without a trace
I dream at night I can only see your face
I look around but it's you I can't replace
I feel so cold and I long for your embrace
I keep crying baby, baby please

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you

That's uh...that's horrifying.

I think the fact that the world is run by only a tiny fraction of the total population and within that group you have Religious Extremists, self-righteous Idealists, War Mongers, distorted historical rivalries and just plain Power Mad Nutjobs, coupled with a weapon stockpile sufficient enough to eradicate life on earth several times over or turn the entire visible landmass of earth into a crater filled dust bowl, is far very unnerving.

Think about it, it's not just us, but billions of years of evolution that would be undone if such an event was to occur. All of it could cease to exist in 1 day. The power for complete planetary extinction really does exist and it's in the control of people who hate each other. It doesn't help that at this moment in time there is a major shift in power towards China and everyone and their mom seems to be worried about it, to the point of paranoia.

It's one thing if the universe in all it's power extinguishes us... but the very real fact that we have that power ourselves is just really unsettling.

Fortunately, if it doesn't happen within the next century, it will never happen. But if it does, I hope I'm already gone. The sheer grief that you would feel knowing that everything ever achieved by our tiny blue planet could be undone by us ungrateful upstarts would be unbearable.
I'm assuming you mostly mean nukes when you say "weapon stockpile". If so then there's no reason to worry, we (as in everyone) don't even have 1/20th of the nukes needed to wipe out all life on earth.

Hands. Seriously, look at your hands for a second. A square-ish bit of meat and bone, with 5 tentacle-like things sticking out from the top that you use to probe things with. How is this not weird to others?

When I was young my parents listened to a lot of The Police and Stings solo stuff. I didn't pay any attention to the lyrics at the time and the tone of his songs were often very upbeat and happy and I'd dance and hum along to them as if they were the Wiggles or something. When I got to be older and listened to his songs again it was a real mindfuck creep moment for me haha.

The melody of his songs are always so nice and happy but his lyrics are always so fucked up.

That diagram doesn't take into account nuclear fallout, both from the nukes themselves, and the destruction of nuclear power plants. It only considers the explosive force.

I was also considering all weapon stockpiles, including biological weapons. I sort of exaggerated the impact for dramatic affect. I doubt we have enough explosives to deface the entire earth. But we certainly have enough to drastically affect global climate, then add radiation to the mix as it spreads across the earth via global weather currents.

There are a few hypothetical outcomes for even a small scale nuclear war that can affect all land based life on earth.

The fact is we don't know what will happen if everybody loses their sanity and decide that hiroshima and nagasaki are something we should experience again.

On a side note, the numbers of nuclear weapons in the world seem to differ depending on the source, I found 1 that says 19,000 and another that said over 20,000. Even taking into account some dishonesty about the numbers, I doubt we would exceed that range.

Anyway, I'm not one to actually think we will see such an event. Even if a nuke is fired in a hostile scenario, I doubt the world is that unstable that they would all run for their red buttons.

Riding in a car occasionally freaks me out. Because if you look at it objectively, you are sitting in box made of plastic, metal, and glass. You are hurtling across the surface of the Earth at various high rates of speed. The Earth is also hurtling through space at ~67,000 mph. Therefore, you are hurtling through space at ~67,100 mph with nothing protecting you but some sheets of metal and a lot of glass.

Since I was like, five, I've been thinking about what happens after you die.

If there is no heaven/afterlife/nirvana/whatever you believe in, what happens to your consciousnesses? Do you just, like, see black forever? Or see nothing? Feel nothing? Like, seriously, what happens?

And if there is, then you spend an eternity there. Forever. Until the end of time. Unless there is no end of time. It never, ever stops. To me, that's scarier. If I'm a good enough person to go to Heaven, I think I'll ask to be reincarnated. You're allowed to get whatever you want there, right?

Also, blind people. They don't see black, they see nothing. Like how you can't see out the back of your head. That freaks me out.

The "love" scene between Mike Thorton and the german mercenary Sie in Alpha Protocol.Just think about it for a minute. The only way to get Sie to "like" you is by showing no interest in her.By being agressive, curt and disdainful.Hell you can even physically attack her at one point if you want.Assuming she survives and you select her as your handler for the final mission she'll enter the room where you are strapped to a table. If she "likes" you enough she'll decide to have her way with you before releasing you

Just to reiterate up to this point we have shown absolutely no interest in her(even shown outright dislike)and she has sex with you while you're tied to a table...

Yep Mike Thorton just got raped

Our brains are "us", our bodies really are not. Sure we use our bodies all the time and associate identity with them, but really the TRUE self lies in the brain. We're parasites in our own bodies really, and our bodies are a mass of unfeeling cells we control through virtue of autonomy and will. We're meat puppets.

The Magic School Bus as a whole. Episode after episode that demented Miss Frizzle is putting those kids lives in danger! Getting baked into a pie (or was it a cake?), the ginger removing his helmet IN SPACE (probably got suicidal after suffering day after day of Miss Frizzle's child endangering ways), and then this!:
How could they possibly have made that without anyone stopping to think how disgusting that is. How could not one single person involved in production have thought "Hmm, maybe having children getting sprayed by semen is going a little too far."

OT: The fact that the only thing keeping you from rotting like a corpse is your passive and active immune system.

Football (soccer for U.S. people). A bunch of grown men with no body hair, who spend an awful lot of time at the gym, wear intricate hair styles and earings, spend most of their careers running through a field of grass after a ball grunting when they run into each other, throwing themselves at the feet of one another and having your team mates occasionally slapping your bum for no apparent reason other than perhaps trying to find out what your sphincter is up to these days. That together with the fact that they are bought and sold makes me wonder what they're really up to.

In Dragon Age: Origins; where darkspawn come from.
Every genlock, hurlock, etc. I saw from then, on I thought "THAT happened to some dwarf/elf/human/qunari woman." Also; how it is for mages, the fade, and the apparent possibility of possession if they give in for just a second. A child started the thing in Redcliffe.

I think it'd be like being asleep before you dream. You actually are aware of your dreams (or maybe just only dream, can't remember) before you wake up. A big time of your sleep you are unconscious. Do you know how that feels ? Of course you don't, because you haven't experienced it, because you're unconscious. Imagine how it was when you were in your mother's womb. I think being dead is like that. It's not that scary, because you're not there anymore :p

Most chick flicks; the guy stalks the girl and watches were from a far, he's madly in love with her without having ever talked to her, etc.
Twilight isn't the only "Chick Flick" out there you know. I kid ;D

Most things end up weird if you over analyse them.

This has always bothered me, but in Naruto when they defeated Hidan by burying him miles under the ground because they couldn't kill him, that really, really freaked me out.

It's the main problem I have with being immortal: now he's trapped in complete darkness, unable to move but still fully conscious and physically aware, unable to die until the end of the world.

I can honestly think of nothing more horrible than that.
http://naruto.wikia.com/wiki/Hidan#cite_note-slow_death-12
don't worry, Hidan will die soon. he still needs nutrients to live so he's not truly immortal and is in fact dying, albeit at a slowly...which kind of seems more terrifying for him now...oops...

OT: Um...not much anymore honestly. i resigned myself to the fact that most of the things i enjoy or once enjoyed became creepy and/or horrible if i thought more about it so i've just come to expect from whatever i know of.Leads to having much less stress about such things.

Oh, well that's a relief; I've been genuinely upset about that since it happened about three-hundred chapters ago. Thanks for clearing things up!

Also Skyrim, I cleared a dungeon full of bandits, only one of them was female, and she was just an archer, one of the weakest bandits. She lived in a dungeon with a bunch of men who rob (and sometimes murder people.) for a living. This hit me just after I exited the dungeon, I had to take a break from skyrim after that.
And you killed her, so... who's the real bastard here?

On that note, Characters like Ezio who go on a life long crusade when their family members get killed, and then proceed to murder more people than their enemies do, many of them hapless guards who for all we only took the job to pay for their sick daughter's medicine. This gets even creepier when you consider that you could legitimately make a game based around the theoretical child of one of these men and have Ezio be the villain. Said protagonist would have just as much reason for revenge, and yet Ezio is supposed to be the likeable hero.

After I realized that I just felt dirty playing the game.

For me there are 3 things
satan talk...
And I fucking hate satan talk for some reason..Always creep's me out

Some Radiohead songs that are melanholic and utterly weird (Mind you I LOVE Radiohead) like Fade out,Karma Police and the song that is the weirdest is android something...

And other than that The thing that CREEPS ME OUT THE MOST IS:
Creepy horror/deep episodes In cartoons like The Ice king origins in Adventure time:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6C0vlX_I-5o
A cool comment I found:Notice how in each clip the snowfall increases...It's so fucking symbolic of Simon gradually being taken over by the ice crown
In the last clip he pleads for someone to watch over him because he wants to regain his sanity, all because he wants Betty to come back
And now he spends most of his time chasing princesses because he wants them to love him, but most people hate him.
This is just a theory but maybe if someone loved him he would be Simon again..
And finding out that Adventure time is set in a post apocalyptic world...That fucked my shit up for some random reason
Also,I loved Dexters laboratory when I was young and I still love it because it has some great gags that I get now that I'm older...But I also saw some kind of freaky shit like the Ice cream man story, and it had a couple of really deep episodes witch I can't remember right now...Sorry!
